Arriving at one of the areas mages can have their duel, Calter's vision locked on a man around his age. That man was what you will expect from a person that came from a wealthy and strong family

His nose almost touched the skies and his hands were at the back of his body. Behind that man was his guards that also have proud looks on their faces

To be a guard of a Royal even though Kes just came from a branch family far from the real royals is already a huge honor. Even the guards will enjoy a high status

Bullying a direct guard or servant of a Royal is almost the same as bullying the royal themselves. If one doesn't have enough status or strength, they cannot slap a royal on their face

Seeing Calter, the arrogant youth looked at the former before sneering. That just irks Calter even more

Calter does not have a high cultivation base for his age but he has a solid foundation! He is also confident in his fighting skills that he honed a lot

Calter didn't say anything and entered the battlefield while his Magic Ring glowed with a black light. Although he was injured from his earlier cultivation session, but it won't affect his battle skills much as he has a high pain tolerance

The medicine that Calter took also has a great effect and it was quickly healing him. He just didn't continue cultivating from the fear that the strange feeling on his heart will cause him to sustain another injury

Calter raised his finger and urge his challenger to enter the space available for fighting

Kes was naturally angered by that as he can feel that Calter is looking down on him and he doesn't like that. Calter's father is only a Magic Knight, how can that trash have a talented son?

Calter's level is not bad for his age but it is also not something to be proud of

Kes stepped on the battlefield and a barrier was instantly erected on the four corners around them. The barrier was transparent and the people outside can watch the match easily

As Calter is the son of the current King's brother, the 'bounty' on his head is naturally high and many people are attracted to this fight

Anyone who will defeat Calter would gain more resources than those who beat other royals from the branch family

"Prepare to lose a lot of resources!" Kes shouted which just made Calter more irritated

"Cut the crap! Make your move!"

At normal times, Calter will be low key and will try not to attract too much attention to himself. He likes being in the shadows as that will enable him to make a lot of moves that won't negatively affect him much. Even if Calter's men were caught doing a 'crime' they won't necessarily know that the mastermind is Calter

Too bad for Kes that Calter is not in the mood today and he'll surely suffer later

Kes' face turned red from anger. He feels like Calter is particularly looking down on him. According to Calter's 'past actions,' he doesn't talk much and just did his best to not be defeated. Why is it that only Kes was having a taste of his venomous tongue?

Wanting to regain his lost face, Kes used his magic ring and it glowed with a dark light too. Menace Kindom has a high population of Dark Type mages and that is especially true for the Royal Families

"[Dark Magic: Shadow Spikes!]" Kes activated his spell and Calter's own shadows turned into multiple sharp black spikes without a warning.

Kes thought that he succeeded but he doesn't know that Calter's forte is spell casting itself

"[Dark Magic: Dark Blessing!]" In less than a second, Calter already activated his magic. With the help of his speed-boosting spell, Calter jumped backward and managed to dodge the shadow spell easily

"Is that all?" Calter asked while looking at Kes with visible disdain in his eyes. Kes' anger rose once again and he waved his hand in the air. "[Dark Magic: Shadow Rods!]"

Three long rods with sharp ends formed around Kes and with another wave of his hand, those sharp rods all flew towards Calter

"Hmph!" Calter harrumphed and gathered mana on his hand. "[Dark Magic: Dark Shield!"] "A black flat shield appeared in front of Calter and the black rods weren't able to penetrate his defensive spell

What a joke! Calter's normal spell has the power of a mid Rank 1 spells, it is not something that a low Rank 1 spell can destroy

"[Dark Summon Magic: Skeleton Warrior!]" Calter pointed a hand on his side and a small summoning circle formed on it

A skeleton holding a normal-looking sword emerged from the summoning circle and it quickly charged towards Kes

The sight of a skeleton that has power comparable to weak Rank 1 creatures caused Kes' face to darken as that immediately caused him to fall into a disadvantageous position

Summoners have a huge edge on other mages at their level because of their summoned creatures! 

From the rumors, being a summoner and having a bit of a smarter mind is Calter's only assets. It wasn't much as there are a lot of people that have higher talent than him in those fields. Calter doesn't have a monstrous talent like the most talented Princes on the three Kingdoms. That is the reason why Kes challenged Calter

However, Kes' arrogance made him forgot that a summoner is still a summoner! A mage that can use summoning magic seldom loses to an enemy at the same rank. Only if the enemy was able to attack the summoner themselves that mostly has weak personal fighting strength would they have a chance to win

A black aura covered the skeleton warrior's sword as it charged towards Kes. Calter is angered today and will show more of his power this time but he still won't show it all

One skeleton is nothing, he can summon five skeletons at a time thanks to the 'senior' that helped him before

Kes took three throwing knives from his spatial ring and coated it with his magical power before throwing it at the skeleton

After that, Kes turned to Calter and activated another spell. It was common knowledge that mages should do their best to fight the summoner instead of the summoned creatures and Kes only threw those knives to buy himself some time

However, not everything goes according to his plan as he saw that Calter is already near him

"[Dark Magic: Demon's Foot!]" Calter threw a kick on Kes' stomach and the latter's eyeballs popped out from his eyesockets

The impact threw Kes a few meters away but Calter doesn't end things there. The youth threw rounds and rounds of kicks on Kes' stomach until the latter was slammed on the barrier

Kes already lost count of how much blood he pukes out. Calter's kicks didn't kill him but it still gave him severe injuries

Blatant killing is now allowed but Calter can hurt Kes as much as he wants and the referees around won't be able to do anything. As long as Kes did not give up, the fight will continue

The jaws of the watchers around dropped on the ground. They know Calter as someone cold and a man of few words. But they didn't know that he can be this ruthless!

"What a weakling!" Calter spat with dissatisfaction with his voice. Someone, this weak actually dared to challenge him? The fight didn't even last for five minutes! It was too anticlimactic

Calter wants to prolong the fight and vent out his frustrations but his enemy was just too weak. He already takes it easy by not summoning five skeletons at a time yet he still won easily

Calter threw another kick on Kes, this time, he targeted the man's face. As soon as Calter's kick landed, few pieces of teeth instantly flew around before landing on the ground

"That's horrible! How can he eat now?" One of the onlookers suddenly exclaimed causing the eyes of the people around to turn at him

"W-what?" That man said while gulping a bit. He felt awkward being stared at by people that looks at him as if he was an idiot

Well, he can be considered as an idiot as he can't think of the bigger picture

Royals put great importance on their face even if they are only from a branch family. With Kes losing this badly, his family would surely look down on him

Losing teeth and not being able to eat is the least of Kes' worries. The outcome of being scorned by his family is something that's already set in stone

Calter felt that an idiot commenting on his fight felt familiar and the image of those blue eyes appeared on his mind again

Just who is the owner of those eyes? Not knowing who it was just made Calter more frustrated

"Why does this feel familiar?" Calter asked himself and gave an order to his summoned skeleton

The skeleton that blocked the knives with its sword earlier went to Kes' side and lifted his body before pulling the man's pants down

"Holy cow! I thought mine is already the darkest junk despite being white-skinned but I was proven wrong today!" The same idiot from before exclaimed as soon as he saw the thing dangling between Kes' legs

This caused the eyes of the people around to focus on him again, or more like, to his crotch with pity on their eyes

The man's vision swirled as he can't believe he just blurted out something like that. The man sweated heavily before feeling a hand patting his shoulder. "Buddy, that's okay, there's still someone that will accept you, try dating Kes" with that man's comment, the people around laugh and gave the first man with a dark junk a 'comforting look'

Calter's head hurt a bit. This situation is really familiar to him but it feels like there is something missing ... or more like someone

"Is it the owner of those blue eyes again? Why is that person always entering my mind?" Calter asked to himself

"B-bwastard! W-whaat ay you dwoing to m-me?!" Kes asked in anger with a voice that is a bit hard to understand due to his missing teeth

Instead of answering Calter just gave another order to his skeleton and it gave Kes a good slap on the ass

The feeling of a bony hand slapping Kes' ass was already painful for him and add that to the fact that he is butt naked in front of many people made him wish that the ground below will open up and swallow him

"Oh shit! That's kinky! Makes me want to do it too" the same man from before thought on his 'mind' but then saw that all eyes were on him again

"D-don't tell m-me ...Come one, not again!" the man wants to cry but no tears come out and the people around nodded their heads at his question. The man felt as if his world was ripping apart, the embarrassment he had today was too much and he can't even escape as it will make more people laugh at him

Hearing the idiot's comment aroused a memory of Calter but no matter what he does, he still can't remember anything as if there is some sort of power preventing that

Calter desperately wants to remember something that he doesn't even know if he has a memory of and tried searching his mind for a scene similar to this one

However, it just caused his head to ache. Calter clutched his head before he was forced to close his eyes from the pain

Calter was in that position for a few seconds. Fortunately, the people's focus was on the idiot man, if not, they will think that Calter turned crazy

When Calter opened his eyes, the pain vanished along with the familiar feeling of this situation. He tried searching his memories again but unlike before, no pain or familiar feelings came to him 

Calter frowned at that and just decided to end this. He coated his hand with mana and used it to chop on Kes' neck turning the man unconscious and he naturally won the fight

Calter waved his hand and the skeleton warrior vanished

The barrier around Calter vanished too and he exited the battlefield to rest in his room as he felt tired from all the things happening to him today
