The two thought that they would be able to defeat the vine monster with their efforts but it did something they never thought it would do

The vine monster jumped! It wasn't just a normal jumped as the distance it traveled from that single jump enable it to reach the area close to the two examinees

Calter saw that and he immediately used his magic "[Darkness Style: Shadow Flame!]" With a wave of his hand, tongues of flame formed and landed on the vines near him

Calter sneakily used a huge chunk of his mana to create the flames. An amount of mana that he shouldn't have since he already used a lot earlier

Fortunately, Calter is skillful when it comes to the practical use of magic. Even the Grand Knights dispatched in the area only felt it was a bit unbelievable that he managed to create that much fire

Only if the Grand Knights focused on sensing how much mana Calter uses would they discover this abnormality. But why would they do that? The Grand Knights' job was to ensure that the students were safe

"Move faster!" Calter shouted and this time, Kence didn't become stubborn. He knew how dangerous the situation is

Calter made more shadow flames and they destroyed the vines that we're able to get near to him

The vine monster was really hard to deal with and it made several fists made from its vines. As Calter is the closest to the monster, he became its sole target

The young master jumped around while conjuring more shadow flames but he underestimated the vine monster's ability. More fist went towards him and Calter knew that he can't burn all of them

"[Dark Magic: Dome of Darkness!]" An all directional barrier appeared around Calter that protected him from several vine fists coming to him

The barrier cracked a bit and Calter was thrown away from the impact. The young master's face darkens and he was about to use another spell when he felt that his barrier hit something

"A-aww!" A pained cried entered Calter's ears and his heart immediately shuddered. He turned to look at Kence that was hit by his barrier and the youth's arm was a bit swollen now

Calter can feel a stabbing pain in his heart at seeing Kence's injury. His emotions gave the vine monster the chance to give him another round of punches??

The impact once again threw Calter and his barrier but this time, Kence was thrown away too as he was being pushed back by the barrier

"N-no!" Calter's heart trembled and he was about to cancel his spell when Kence's back hits one of the trees

Calter's eyes went wide open as a wave of deep anger spread in his whole body. However, the next scenes made him shocked

Instead of Kence's body stopping at the tree, the youth actually passes through it! Even Calter was forced to enter the tree because of the vine monster

The next second, Calter saw that his surroundings have changed. He and Kence was just in a forest seconds ago but now ... they are in what looks like a forest too but ... spooky version

Calter ignored the sudden change in terrain first and immediately checked on Kence's condition. Seeing the swollen arm of the youth causes Calter to feel a stabbing pain in his heart again

With memories or not, Calter can't see Kence being injured and in pain!

"I'm sorry, are you okay?" Calter crouched down and while staring at Kence's arm but the youth used his other arm to stop him. "P-pervert! D-don't invade my so personal space!" Kence said in a panic as Calter was too close to him for his little heart to take. Every time that Calter is too close to him, Kence's mind will immediately malfunction and his 'self-defense' of acting grumpy will be activated

Calter wasn't in the mood to 'fight' with Kence and just took some water, ointment, and bandage from his spatial ring. Items that are too effective and will tilt the balance between the students are prohibited but not first aid items like those

"Shut your mouth or I'll kiss you" Calter said in annoyance and saw that Kence pouted before shutting his mouth

Kence is already cute, he doesn't need to further seduce Calter! Why is he even pouting? Is Kence asking to be kissed?

Calter grumbled unhappily. Kence didn't talk again for the fear that Calter will kiss him yet here he was, pouting as if he was inviting the man for a kiss??

Kence doesn't know that his simple actions made Calter annoyed. Kence is absolutely not asking for a kiss! (Although his heart will beat faster at that thought)

Calter gently poured water on Kence's arm to remove the dirt first. Even the young master doesn't know that he can be this gentle to someone

His mind that has the memories of living in the Escardon Realm was screaming for him to stop and leave Kence alone. However, his heart and body easily won over his mind as always and he treated Kence like the most important and fragile thing in the world

When Calter went to touch Kence's skin, it sent electric sparks on both of their bodies. It gave them a craving they didn't know they had. The craving to touch and be touched ...

Calter felt a dryness in his throat. The part of Kence's arm that wasn't swollen feels too ... soft. It was softer than even cotton! Calter never imagined that someone can have such a perfectly soft and smooth skin

The young master wasn't able to stop himself from taking advantage of the situation and brushed Kence's skin with his fingers

Kence bit his lip at the sensation that his mind forgets but his body still remembers. The redness on his cheeks spread to his ear, neck, and collarbones

If Calter wasn't 'focused on Kence's injury' the young master would have surely groan at seeing Kence's current appearance

"Y-you! Y-you're t-touching me t-too much!" After some time, Kence realized that Calter treating his wound takes too much time and knew that there is something wrong

Too bad for him that Calter is good at lying and answered in a righteous manner. "I'm just treating your wound properly. Do you want me to do it faster and risk making your injury worse? Are you really that ungrateful?"

Kence doesn't know how to refute again and he can only lower his head. A wave of guilt spread all over his body. Calter might be a 'pervert' but the man still helps him on multiple occasions. Kence still 'doesn't like' the pervert but he should at least be thankful

If not for Calter, he would have already failed the test

"T-thank you ..." Kence said with a weak voice while turning his head on the side. He doesn't know why he suddenly becomes prideful in front of Calter when he isn't normally like this and thanking the man is too embarrassing for him

One must know that if other people did something nice to Kence, he will immediately thank that person. If Kence did something wrong, he would immediately apologize for that

But to Calter .... the thought of the man being a pervert to other people always clouded Kence's judgments

Looking at the shy youth, Calter was not able to stop the sides of his lip from raising. He was happy than Kence finally became 'good' to him

However, the fake memories might be on the losing end but it still has some effects. Calter immediately masked his emotions and only nodded his head even though he desperately wants to pinch Kence's cheeks

Calter also felt some guilt for deceiving such an innocent person. Kence was actually right as Calter is really moving his hands slower to prolong the 'touching session'

Because of the guilt, Calter sped up his pace and spread the ointment to Kence's injury before bandaging it

Only then did Calter was able to take a look at their surroundings. Now that he had a good look at it, Calter felt like it wouldn't be appropriate to call it a forest

There are only a few trees around but they are all black in color and they don't even have a single leaf. The place is dark and the visibility is lower than normal

The two were outside it but inside the spooky place were dark mists and the sounds of crows entered their ears

Kence also turned to look at the spooky place in front of them and his heart beats faster. It was too scary! They can see red eyes staring at them from the birds inside the forest

When Calter turned to look behind him, he saw a portal like thing. "I think this is a dungeon, we should exit it first" Calter said and stood up while offering his hand to Kence

Kence doesn't know if he should accept it or not. Calter might be a pervert but the man helps him and he shouldn't act so ungrateful

When Calter raised his brows, Kence can only reluctantly let the other man help him. As the hands of the two touched, it gave them even stronger electric shocks than before and Kence almost fell to the ground if not for Calter gripping his hand tightly

The youth almost forgot to breathe at the things that are happening to him because of Calter

Even when Kence is already standing, Calter is still not letting go of his hand. The young master just stared at Kence's eyes and the latter felt conscious

Kence was about to act grumpily again when a child-like voice suddenly entered their ears

"Are you two not going to stop flirting?! I can't explain what I should explain because you two won't stop being so lovey-dovey!"

The bodies of the two immediately flinched and they turned to look at the source. Calter unconsciously had Kence hid behind his back while readying his spell

When the two looked at the source of the voice, they saw a palm-size human-like creature. The creature looks like a girl with two short horns on her forehead. On her back was a pair of reddish-black wings and she also has a tail with a sharp end

"W-what is that?" Kence asked in shock and the little flying creature was immediately offended

"H-how can you use 'that' in addressing me! How rude!" The creature said while throwing Kence a cute glare

"A-ahh! I'm sorry!" Kence quickly apologized, causing Calter's face to darken. Why is Kence kind to everyone except for him?!

"Hmph! Be thankful that you are cute!" Seeing Kence apologizing, the anger of the strange kid instantly vanished

'"Okay! Listen to me. I am a fairy imp, not just an imp! Don't think that I'm the same as those normal dirty imps! That is so blah blah blah blah" the girl talked and talked about how people always misunderstood her and how they can't believe her when she said that she's an imp and so on

"What's your point?" Calter asked as he was irritated at how talkative the imp is. Besides, they are in what looks like a dungeon in the middle of the exam, the creature might be one of the 'hardships' that this exam have

Calter can't lower his guard as he needs to be a student of the Escardon Academy for his future

A ball of shadow flame formed on Calter's palm and he was ready to attack if this fairy imp turned hostile

"How rude!" The fairy said in dissatisfaction before a pressure bore down on the two. It was the pressure from a Rank 3 being!

Kence's face paled and his knees wobbled. Even among the Rank 3 creatures, this imp has one of the strongest aura. It looks like her power is close to the tower manager

Calter was in a better condition as he just stood in his place. Only beings like the Head Master was able to force Calter on his knees

The imp looked at Calter with interest, she can sense the deep sense of pride from the man. Not everyone can look as unaffected as him when encountering a Grand Knight while he was still a Magic Warrior

"As you can see I am much more powerful than the both of you combined and I am here to explain things that the both of you should do if you want to pass the test!"
