Calter managed to pull some distance between them but he knew that his opponent will soon reach him. His spell increased his speed but it also required him to use physical strength and move his body. The more he run, the more he became tired

Calter bit his tongue and the pain cleared his mind for a moment before he activated yet another spell. "[Dark Magic: Evil Stare!]" The youth turned back his body and Calter's eye glowed with a purple light

It was another Level 6 Spell and with Calter's Magic Mark, it has the power of normal Level 8 Spells. However, this caused his soul to bear too much burden again and he almost lose consciousness on the spot from the splitting headache

Fortunately, even a Level 8 Illusion still has some effects on those at the peak of Magic Apprentice Rank. It momentarily stunned the Shan youth as if he saw something frightening and some cold sweats appeared all over his body

Evil Stare is a soul spell that brought fear on the one you casted it with. However, it only takes seconds before the Shan youth break from the spell

Humans after all, only needs to strengthen their soul if they want to become a Magic Warrior. But to reach the peak of Magic Apprentice, it wasn't much necessary. Human's soul was roughly a level 9 in strength

Kel shouted at the Shan youth again to hurry up and kill Calter which made the latter angrier. He was already doing his best; it wasn't his fault that Calter is this too slippery

The Shan youth's eyes glowed with an even more black light which Calter saw and made his expression to darken while running away. It means that the youth was gathering mana on his eyes to use an attack and from the looks of it, it was quite powerful!

"DIE BASTARD!" After charging up, a dark beam of light was shot from the youth's eyes and advance on Calter's position in a fast speed

Calter always put all of his focus on his opponent while ignoring his headache for an unexpected moment like this. From their distance, he thought that he can dodge it but who would have thought that the attack will be this fast?

Although he tried his best to dodge the moment, he saw the beam of light but it still hit him and it almost destroyed his whole shoulder

This time, the pain from having his shoulder destroyed was so severe and he fell on the ground. The impact caused his body to roll a few meters and bruises appeared all around his body

"CALTER!!" Emily was about to run on her son's side but the City Lord won't let her. Otto waved his hand and froze the woman's feet. If she went to her son now, it means that Calter already lose

With his presence, Otto can at least make sure that Calter won't be killed. He doesn't want to become the Shan Clan's backing and be unable to do anything bad to them. Although the chance of Calter winning is low, but he would cling to that little bit of hope due to Calter's performance today

"Calm down. I won't let him die" Otto said and Calter's parents doesn't have a choice but to stop themselves from interrupting the fight

The returned their focused on the current fight. Otto and Nan did not notice it but a chain tattoo appeared on the back of Emily's palm as if she was about to make a move

But Narry who was on her side hold the woman's palm and the chain tattoo disappeared. "Let's trust the City Lord for now" Narry mouthed but no sound came out from his mouth

Emily gritted her teeth and nodded her head

After successfully landing his first hit on Calter, the youth laughed maniacally and slowly walk on Calter's position while he was panting

The light from his black eyes visibly dimmed and even he, was panting now

Calter's blood splashed on the ground dying it with a blood red color. He was on the brink of losing consciousness now but he can't!

Passing out now means he lose. If he loses then if the Shan Clan is the mastermind on the assassination, it meant that he can't avenge Kence!

That is an outcome he will not accept. He started blaming himself again. Since he returned back to the past, he become too overconfident. Especially when he got the City Lord's backing

He never set his eyes on a mere Soaring Magic City. His goal is to become a Rank 4 Mage and become the ruler of Enchanted Star Realm. Then when Kence got hurt, his goal turned to becoming the most powerful mage in the whole world

He thought that the City he currently is in, will just become a mere stepping stone for him. Like a small village where the protagonist will come from then move to the bigger and more powerful places

He forgot that his goals are too high while his own strength is still too weak. Not to mention the whole world, just in the Soaring Magic City that he unconsciously thinks of a small and weak place, he was just like an ant there

He might have ten times more mana than normal mages and has high talent but as of now, he's still a mere Level 4 Magic Apprentice. Even some peasants that became a Magic Warrior is already much more powerful than him!

Calter really became too arrogant and overconfident

The Shan youth finally reached Calter and stared at his glowing black hand while smiling evilly at the almost unconscious Calter. He will surely enjoy himself tormenting the person who turned him to be like a monster

The Shan youth's hand slowly descended down to Calter's face and as of now, that black hand was the only thing that Calter can see on his blurry vision

Calter was unwilling, he doesn't want things to end like this. He can't let this be the outcome!

"I'M UNWILLING!" Calter roared inside him and his willpower was ignited. Although both his physical body and soul is in so much pain, it magically vanished. No, it didn't literally vanish but his willpower was aroused too much and he doesn't care about any pain on him. The only thing that matters now is winning!!

With another roar on his mind, Calter's soul trembled and the mana swimming freely around his spirit sea rushed on his soul

It went pass his core that protected his soul as if it was nothing and bath his soul with mana. Calter's mind became clearer and he felt as if his soul had a break through

His vision returned back to normal in an instant and the way he saw the world become clearer

He controlled the remaining mana on his body and quickly pointed his wand at his foot. In no more than a second, black lights covered the entirety of Calter's foot giving it more power

"[Dark Magic: Demon's Foot!]" Calter used his foot and kicked upwards

Everyone on the scene can hear a cracking sound as if an egg cracked. When they saw where Calter struck his foot they were dumbfounded and some men even touched their crotched

What Calter attacked was actually his opponent's family jewel! The viciousness behind that kick sent shivers all over their body

For the Shan youth it was as if time itself stopped before he rolled on the ground while shouting like a pig. His hand went on his crotch as he cried tears of pain

Calter ignored the pain that assaulted him again after what it seems like an overpowered state of his and returned back to normal as he run away

This was still the reality after all. He can't possibly use a power that he doesn't have just because he was unwilling to have an outcome, he doesn't like

His state before just strengthened his soul to the next level and cleared his mind. The amount of mana he has was still the same as before and he can only use the spells he has and know

Thus, even if he uses a spell with a level 8 power, it doesn't necessarily mean he will win. That's why, he hit where it will hurt the most

As expected, Calter's mana lowered again. He might have the mana of a bit more than initial Level 7 Mage but he still summoned tens of skeletons before. Calter also used two Level 6 Spells now, this outcome was expected

Calter looked at his shoulder that is badly injured now. Fortunately, it was his left shoulder and not his dominant right one. His arm was limping now and if he tried to move it a bit, it will give him severe pain

But to be safe, pain is something he must ignore for now. Although he kicked his opponents on the nuts it doesn't mean that he already won

"Trash! Get up now!!" Kel shouted angrily. Before, he was just a bit anxious but now he was really afraid!

If they lose, then the whole Shan Clan will become Calter's slaves. And with what they have done so far, like using a modified human to fight Calter, how can they have good lives as slaves?

But no matter how much he shouted, how can a man easily recover from the pain of being hit in the nuts? It also wasn't a normal kick but a kick that was boosted by a spell!

A minute already passed but the Shan youth was still on the ground rolling in pain. His body also returned back to normal now and wasn't bulging like before

Even if he wants to enter that state, it will take some time that Calter won't give him

Calter then went to make sure he won. He used his spell to summon skeletons again. Fortunately, his soul received an upgrade and wasn't as painful as before

The skeleton warriors carefully walk on the Shan youth's side while holding their swords. This made Kel and even the other members of his clan to shout desperately to their representative

All sorts of begging and threat spew out from their mouth but to no avail, the Shan youth wasn't able to recover from the pain. You can't blame him though; he was from a Marquees Clan. He was fostered his whole life and didn't experienced any hardships or pain

To ask him to stand up after being kicked on the nuts like that was too much

After some time, the skeletons reached their destination and without a care stab their swords on the youth. One of the skeletons stab him on the heart and free him from his pitiful state

After he died, no sounds were made by anyone and the Shan Clan felt as if their worlds fell apart when they saw a sword on their representative's chest. His blood dying the ground and the smell wafted in the air

Calter's knees gave out and he sat on the ground while gasping for air and holding his shoulder. His soul might be in a better condition now but his physical body is not. He was extremely exhausted and even until now, he was still losing blood

"Calter won!" Otto shouted the result and golden lights once again glowed around the members of the Shan Clan. The light made them the most loyal people to Calter

Of course, they were still dissatisfied and angry but the effects of the agreement made it so that any thoughts of betrayal will vanish

This is a contract using the God of Order after all, the laws itself were involved and laws were the cornerstone of the world

The City Lord immediately used his sound transmission stone to call some healer. If they let Calter to continue losing blood then even if he won, he might still die

Fortunately, Calter's injury was on his shoulder. Otto can freeze his wounds as there is no fire energy that will clash with his power. The cold energy on the other hand won't affect his heart from that distance

Otto was also better that Nan and can control his power more accurately.. It served as a first aid and Calter's bleeding stopped. Even the overwhelming pain vanished a bit and was replaced by a numbing pain
