Calter doesn't need people who will stick on their moral values. What he needs are people who will do everything to accomplish their goals. That is why, at the very start, he wants to change Denma's mentality

Denma's heart trembled and he clenched his fist. He doesn't know what kind of things Calter will make him do in the future but for power, he will do everything!

The prisoners and their instructors which are the Shan Clan's men all gave respects for their master and stopped whatever they are doing

Calter nodded his head and looked at each one of them "Who broke through in the Grand Knight here?" Calter asked and one of them immediately stepped out

"Master, it is me" the prisoner said respectfully. On his forehead the numbers '21' can be seen

1-10 is for Magic Apprentices and 21-30 is for the Magic Knights. Turns out this particular mage was the captain of the Knight Rank prisoners as he is numbered 21

"Here" Calter retrieved another book from his spatial ring. The book contained magical knowledge suitable for Rank 3 Mages

Calter might have given them manuals but all of it were only up to breaking through in the Grand Knight Rank and all of it were given to the Knights. Each night only has one copy of it and after they become a Grand Knight, they will need more advance knowledge

Calter won't risk his special manuals to be stolen by other people and the higher knowledge needed to be given out by Calter personally.

Knights can protect themselves but their manuals can only support them to break through in the third rank. In this case, even if someone managed to kill the Knight and stole the manual, they won't be able to have all magical knowledge that Calter has

As for a Grand Knight, Calter gave all he has to the mage. As Otto is the only other Rank 3 Mage in the City, how can someone steal Calter's slave's manual?

"Thank you, master" the Mage said respectfully. Although he's much more powerful than Calter, but the oath influenced his mind already. The mage felt veneration and gratitude to Calter that helped him become this powerful

Calter waved his hand and the number '21' changed into '31'

"You are the captain now of the Grand Knight squad although you are the only member for now"

Number 31 accepted the honor and quickly thanked his master

"But how did you break through?" Calter asked. It's only been a few months since he started building his own force but he already gained a mage this powerful. Although this is a pleasant surprise for him, but it still puzzled him

"Master, I'm already at the peak of Knight Rank before but I was not able to advance on the next rank because I was lacking more advanced magic knowledge. But thanks to master giving me the manual, I luckily become a Rank 3 Mage"

The prisoner stated and the other prisoners all looked at him with envy. He might be Calter's slave now but he would surely have a better treatment since he's the most powerful of them all

Calter had a realization on his face and he started formulating a plan on his head. If he wants to have more Rank 3 Mages under him, maybe he can make a peak Knight his slave and gave them one of his manuals

Thinking of it, Calter become a Grand Knight before with just his talent and hard work. He didn't have any cultivation manual suitable for advancing to the Rank 3 but he still managed to reach the peak

"The hardest thing to become a Rank 3 Mage is advance cultivation manuals that is hard to come by. Soul strength and the body quality with decades or a hundred years of training can still reached the threshold for Grand Knight mages with little to no external help"

"Now that I think of it, it wasn't that hard to become a Grand Knight. Most of the problem is the cultivation manual. If that is the case, then why can't the mages of the Enchanted Star Realm become Rank 4 mages? There is something suspicious here"

A lot of questions popped up on Calter's mind but no matter how hard he thinks of it, he can't find any answer and just threw the matter at the back of his mind first

"Number 31, guide Denma personally on his cultivation for 1 hour every day and another hour to teach all the Knights here. The rest of your time is for your own training" Calter said much to Denma and the other Knight's delight

Although Calter is a great teacher for them but he was not always present in the Demon's Den to teach. With number 31 with them, the prisoners and Denma would surely have an easier time on their cultivation

Calter head back to the City Lord's Manor after he settled things on his base. But he searched for the City Lord first before going back to Kence

He asked the servants along the way and learned that Otto is in the Gold Spring Restaurant

Calter exhaled a deep breath. He wants to return to Kence as soon as possible but he needs to find the City Lord for help again. Before, he felt a bit of embarrassment to Otto as he always required the old man's help

But now, he raised a Grand Knight in the City. This will elevate the status of Soaring Magic City and lessen the number of people that will offend them. All the troubles he caused to the City Lord will be paid by raising a Grand Knight

That is a Grand Knights' power and status! That is the true peak existence in the realm!

Calter along with his 'guard' Kel directly went to the Gold Spring Restaurant. Calter doesn't want to waste any second and wished to have more Grand Knights as his force

He refused to enter the Enchanted Alliance before but that doesn't mean he don't plan on entering it. However, he thought that it will require him years for that to happen, he never thought that it would require lesser time as long as he raised more Grand Knights

Arriving at the restaurant, just like before, Kel was the first one to exit followed by Calter. The young master literally treated Kel as a meat shield and always had him to exit first for Calter's own protection

Entering the restaurant, the place was as busy as before. A lot of patrons always ate there. The more influential warriors and almost all the Knights knew that the City Lord owned it. It was one of the peaceful places to eat as only an idiot will cause trouble inside it

As the waiters and waitresses already know who Calter is, they greeted him respectfully

"Where is the City Lord?" Calter directly asked and the staffs guided him on a room. It was the same room where Calter and Otto had an agreement before

Entering the room, Calter was surprise to see another person inside. It was a man exuding a powerful aura

Otto's aura was of an icy mountain while this man has a fiery volcano ready to burn everything on sight. Even Kel was suffocated by the two powerful and opposite auras clashing with each other

This can only mean one thing, this man is also a Grand Knight!

Sure enough, when the man turned his head on Calter's direction the young master saw a familiar face

The man in red clothing was the neighboring City's, City Lord!

Blaze is the Fiery City's number one expert and its City Lord. This City is more powerful than Soaring Magic City

Otto is a bit more powerful than Blaze but the Fiery City has another Grand Knight with them! Otto cannot defeat two mages that are only slightly weaker than him and was always in disadvantageous position

From how the two were confronting each other with their aura, it was common sense that the two has a disagreement with each other

Otto's eyes flickered and immediately went on Calter's side

"Calter, I'm busy today. Let us talk later" the City Lord clearly doesn't want Calter to witnessed such a scene as the youth is still too weak for now

However, how can Calter leave Otto in a situation like this? Looking at how ugly Otto's expression, he knew that there is something wrong

"City Lord, if you are having a trouble, don't hesitate to ask for my help"

Calter is a person that will make his enemies miserable but will help his friend as long as he can. It might sound like a joke as he's only a Magic Apprentice but he now has a Grand Knight slave, that is the source of his confidence!

Blaze stood up from his seat and looked at Calter with disdain. A mere Magic Apprentice wanting to help a Grand Knight? What sort of help could he even give?

"Hmph, who is this brat?" Blaze asked while throwing Calter a look the powerful give to the weak

Calter wasn't faze though, he knew how the world works and Blaze's actions are considered 'normal'

"Lord Blaze, I'm Lord Otto's grandson" Calter calmly said even though he was facing a Grand Knight. He even made himself in a lower position here

One will think of Calter as a person that will never back down on everything as he always does what he wants without caring about offending people but the truth is he wasn't like that

He only offended the clans in the City because those people cannot do anything to him thanks to the City Lord. However, a City with two Grand Knights is a different story, it won't do him good to offend them

Calter doesn't really care much about dignity. For him, being alive is the most important thing. As long as he's still alive, he has hopes of reaching a state where the people he can only bow respectfully before will need to kneel in front of him

"I don't care who you are. Get lost! This is not something you can meddle with!" Just like his name, this man really has a fiery temper and doesn't put Calter on his eyes

It wasn't surprising though. Magic Apprentices looks like ants in front of a Grand Knight

"I apologize for intruding. I just want to notify my grandfather of the good news. One of the people loyal to grandfather broke through and become a Grand Knight. I also heard that the esteemed mage is a Darkness Type Mage. Hmm, I heard dark type mage aren't easy to deal with. They are good at assassination and their spells are troublesome to deal with. Even other mages don't want to offend mages that has such sinister spells"

"As a Dark Type mage, myself, I also want to have the same power as that esteemed mage. Grandfather is really lucky; the esteemed mage is extremely loyal to him and is willing to do everything to protect my grandfather"

Calter said in one breath with a sweet and innocent smile on his face. It was like he really adored such a powerful mage. His acting skill was so good that people who doesn't know him will really think that he was saying the truth

As expected, Blaze's face flinched at hearing it. Otto is already slightly stronger than him and now that the old man gained a loyal Grand Knight mage under him, Fiery City cannot put any pressure on Soaring Magic City again

Even if the mage is a newly advance one, a dark type mage cannot be underestimated. Their means are often sinister and hard to deal with

Besides, the mage might still advance in the future as it only become a Grand Knight recently. It would be a disaster to Blaze and his City if they offended such people

However, Blaze is still having some second thoughts. What if the brat was actually lying to help Otto?
