My Destined Werewolf Mate

Chapter 103 - Inner Conflicts

"Wh...What do you want to know about her?" With his trembling lips and quivering chin, looking much fretful he tossed a sharp query at his father, fidgeting his fingers.

Staring straight into his eyes with a mystic layer of darkness, Antonio promptly answered, "I want to know every little detail about that human."

"But wh-why?"

"To finish her off with my own hands." A terrifying response flew back from him which absolutely turned Czar spellbound and numb for a few minutes.

"What?"

"I can't let Zeus do such a heinous sin by sacrificing his own life for a mere human! He...He is the present alpha of our pack! Thousands of life and hopes are dependent on him...He absolutely can't be bewitched by a weak human... So, I have to step within--"

"Bewitch? Such a bullshit!" Suddenly he jolted up from the couch, snarling at his father while swirling his pupils wider in wrath. He was infuriated, perplexed just by listening to his declamation and unable to suppress his displeasure, his shrieking reverberated inside the entire living room.

Antonio seemed a bit startled to watch him getting worked up all of a sudden with his simple answer. He raised his chin up, ogling at him while scrunching his eyebrows hard, "Czar, why do you look displeased--"

"Your son is the first one who intended to chase after her, tailing her around everywhere! He was the first one who unnecessarily involved her in our world! How...How did she bewitch him? C'mon, dad, your Zeus isn't a teenage kid who will be charmed by just any woman! When he was the one who chose to save her life over his own...then why the heck she has to die? It's fucking unfair!" Looking invincibly worried, he howled out louder in a dense irked pitch almost surprising him to a greater extent.

"Are you defending that human right now, Czar?" Folding his broad muscular arms in his arm groove, he tossed an irked query towards him. This time Antonio's voice sounded much vexed as if he was triggering out his rage quite intentionally.

"N...No!" Baffled at his self reaction, he shook his head in declination and tried to objectify his response before him, "I...I was just telling you the truth that...it was pissing me off...I...I am not defending her or anything else--"

"You are indeed defending that mere human over your own brother, Czar! Your behavior is upsetting me, son." Standing up tall from the couch, firmly he marched closer to him glaring deeply into his baffled gaze. "Maybe... it's true that Zeus was the one who intended to trail after her first, but he has lost his mind and currently not in the right state. He has absolutely forgotten that he is our alpha and the Romanos need him as their pillar support. He can't be fooling around with a human forgetting his responsibilities at this moment, and that's the reason as his father and the former alpha of Romanos, I have to step in the situation.

I can't abandon my own son who is dear to me...but I can simply eliminate the woman and turn up the situation the same as before. Everything will fall back to its own place once the woman is out of our way." He asserted his intense expression, staring straight into him.

"Do you think...Zeus will stay silent if something ever happens to her?" Gritting his jowls in anger, he reciprocated in a hoarse tone gawking into his brown cryptic eyes. "Dad, Zeus didn't even think for a second before enduring the wolfsbane attack just for her sake! That...That wolfsbane would leave a permanent curse on him but still, he suffered...endured the pain just to be with her! Do you really think he would be silent and calm if the woman dies? He will carry out a rampage in the entire pack! There will be pools of blood flowing everywhere and...it would be a scandalous event for us--"

"It will be further embarrassing if the alpha of a pack which despises humans more than anything intends to stick around a human! He is my son...And I know it well how to heap him down under responsibilities once I get rid of that woman. I will further progress accordingly to the situation ahead."

"But dad--"

"Czar, it was disappointing of me to expect some kind of help from you." Looking all frowned, and interrupting him halfway, he averted his glance away from him straightening his back in a tall posture. "It's probably the first time I am warning you, don't walk down into the same path your brother has followed! Don't be stupid like him! Remember who you are and be the kind of wicked werewolf you always have been towards humans! Don't indulge in unnecessary emotions like your brother because I absolutely won't like it to watch both of my sons doomed in despair. Also, I wish these deliberations would stay only between us both." Steadily turning his back at him, he tried to head towards the upstairs looking utterly distressed.

Czar stood still with burning fumes inside his heart frowning in concern for Eva after hearing his proclamation. His eyebrows were twitching and in an irked tone, he grumbled at his father from behind.

"She is the happiness of your son, dad! He...He will forever lose his bliss if something happens to her!"

Apprehending his intense objection, somehow his feet halted while he was heading straight towards his room. A momentary awkward silence persisted between them as slowly he turned back at Czar, glaring piercingly before answering.

"For an Alpha of Romano, responsibilities, and pack comes first before his own happiness. If...we were allowed to choose our happiness, then perhaps...Madonna would have still stayed by my side all these years." His deep husky voice crooked a little and his eyes were immersed in intense sadness as he proclaimed his heartfelt words towards him. Shocked at his unexpected answer, a trace of despair rose inside his heart as Czar glared back at his father, standing stiff and frigid.

...

"What is all the ruckus going on here?"

Both of them flinched hard with the sudden cold screeching tone at a measurable distance from them up from the stairs. It was no one other than Aelia, wearing a black, silk-laced full sleeve gown glowing radiantly and looking all skeptical of them, glaring at both of them, especially at Antonio with her blazing deep ash-brown eyeballs.

"Aelia?"

"I heard some chaotic conflicts going on between you two from upstairs. What's the matter happening here?" Tapping down the stairs, she stole a small displeased peek at Czar who was intensively glaring back at her.

"It's nothing serious, just a small father-son talk. Don't you worry about it, Aelia. I am heading to my room now." In a deep resonance, he conveyed his words before heading direct upstairs holding a serious grimace.

As soon as he left the premises, she shifted her glare towards Czar who was staring intensely at her, gnashing his lower jowls in rage. He seemed much enraged from his appearances and the display further perturbed her.

"What are you glaring at, you nasty punk?" She irked out.

"My mother....My kind mother deserved to be here in your place, you vile filthy woman! I wish...I wish I could see you dead and devasted! I wish I could watch you suffering and whimpering in misery..." Cursing inside his mind, he continued his intense gawking.

"Stay away from my son and my husband!" Swirling her pupils wider, she proclaimed in a dense pitch. "Antonio maybe your biological father...but I have never considered you as my family! Stay as far away as possible from us!" Stomping her feet hard on the ground after conveying her dark declaration, she firmly walked across the stairs to head upstairs following after Antonio.

As soon as she left, taking a deep huff of breath out, Czar clenched his fist and slammed hard on the couch expressing his pent-up rage. He seemed to be bottled up in his inner turmoils and much conflicted inside.

"That filthy woman will be only in despair if her son is suffering... Zeus would really lose his will in life if something happens to Eva...He won't probably survive without her! I...I can understand dad somehow... All these happenings will only entirely benefit me as it will cause my first victory over them...I would finally be able to avenge my inner wrath if I keep all of these as a secret and let dad do whatever he wants...

But...

Why am I still not happy? Why...Why do I keep reminding the warm smile she gave to me? Why do her kind words keep ringing in my ears?" His heart was throbbing with an unknown pain as he was battling his inner turmoil. Slowly, he took a small tangerine peel out of his suit pocket and clenched it harder in his grasp, looking at it.

"Why have I still kept this tangerine peel with me that she gave to me? Why am I so concerned about her? Why I don't want her... to die? Why? What's wrong with me?"
