My Destined Werewolf Mate

Awe-struck by her bold yet saddening declamation, Zeus stood still like a statue momentarily holding a heavy grievous heart. His granny pointed out the harsh ill-fated consequence of the route of their lives involving a supernatural werewolf like him and a powerless mortal human i.e. Eva...

No matter how much he would try to escape from his destiny, but in the end...such events will be bound to happen just as she depicted. In other words, one of them would have to leave the other one behind when the time comes...

Lowering his grimace down along with his dark intense eyes filled with sadness, he didn't utter a single word and slowly nodded his head in obeyance.

"So...what do you intend to do...my child? The final decision will be ultimately yours. But do remember, you won't get this opportunity to have your choice ever again after this... From whatever you will decide, you will be the one sealing up your own fate. There will be no turning back..." Her voice grew heavier as she caressed his arm with her slender fingers, holding a small sad smile.

"Even though, my love will be a sad one...but still...I...I want to live... Granny..." Slowly raising his teary eyes upward, he murmured in a crooked voice looking at her eyes with a poignant gaze. 

She didn't utter a single objection and stood still gawking at him intensely exhaling a deep breath, carrying a heavy weight of her emotions.

"Honestly, all my life I have been wanting to die...All my life I have been bearing the painful regret in my heart for losing you right before my own eyes...I was always lonely, broken trying hard to do my best in protecting my pack as the chosen alpha...

But...I was never happy...I never found the happiness that would ever fill the void crafted deep down in my cold heart... The moment when I had lost every hope of finding my happiness again... I met Eva at a very strange moment of my life...

She was on the verge of giving up her own life helplessly. Probably, that made me realize... I am not the only one in the world battling these dark gloomy days...We all are fighting our own pain and also...we can heal each other's wounded hearts with the love we have been seeking for so long...

Eva...became the ray of hope of my life, my only comfort in this dark world... I found myself unknowingly smiling around her, the smile which I had lost years ago... Not only that, I always went crazy whenever anything miserable happened to her. Without even realizing that...I have committed the grave sin of falling in love with a human...

But despite everything, this time, I want to choose my happiness... I want to live my life...No matter how cruel our fate will be towards us...No matter how sad our love will be... No matter what's ahead awaited us in life...My heart will truly and sincerely always belong to Eva...Always and forever..." His firm yet somber declaration sounded much dense, reverberating like an echo in that desolated area.

She stared at him intensely for a few minutes and tossed a warm smile at her beloved grandson, caressing his head tenderly. "I knew you would choose it and I am proud of your decision my child. Do you remember, what I had told you on my fateful last day when we went to the Mountain God temple together?"

"I do remember, granny. You had told me, someday...we will choose someone above everyone and everything, and that's the choice our hearts will make... I couldn't realize your opinion at that moment...but...I do realize it now after choosing Eva in my life...

I know, I couldn't protect you, granny, from those Lupos...But I swear to fulfill my vengeance from those bastards... I will never forget the pain they caused me..." Softly he placed a small peck holding her knuckle tight as his lips quivered a little.

She smiled with a broad grin on her face with her eyes swelled up with tears while looking at him. "You have really grown up well, my child. I...I have complete faith in you and I know... You will be the happiest to stay by her side. But...the road ahead won't be smooth for you both... There will be times when you would feel devasted and shattered, but whatever it happens, you will have to protect your love forever. Because it's the choice you have made it for yourself, my child." She murmured her words in a polite note.

"I promise you, granny, no matter what happens... Even if the day comes ever that she would begin to despise me... I still won't abandon her side ever in my life. Even if someday, I have to die protecting the love of my life, I will gladly do so, no matter what." His eyes were shimmering with tears as he looked at her straight in the eye, murmuring his words in a saddened voice.

WHOOSHHH!

All of a sudden, a surreal event happened right before his vision which startled him immensely. The strange mist which was carpeting up the entire place magically disappeared and the entire area became clearly visible. It was a large vacant place and slowly, his granny raised up her right arm pointing towards something at his behind. With a curious face, he turned back and faced a huge shocking sight!

Behind him at a measurable distance, Eva was standing holding a broad teary smile while looking at Zeus. He was spellbound to witness her in such a strange place that his feet staggered momentarily, shaking up his posture.

"E...EVA!? IS...IS THAT YOU...EVA?" In a shaky fumbling voice, he murmured his awestruck words.

"Go back to your love, my child. My blessings will be always with both of you. And...I wish...both of you... eternal happiness." Softly, she murmured her words tapping his arm a few times and slowly drifting her arm apart from his grasp.

Shocked and surprised, Zeus was almost on the verge of tears as he turned his grimace towards his granny. He seemed confused with tears rolling down and gawking at her intensely.

"Granny, what's this--"

"This is the choice you have made my son. Go back to your love. This...This will be our final goodbye my child but do always remember, granny will be watching and loving you forever." 

As soon as she completed her teary sentence, Zeus embraced her tighter in his arms while starting to sob bitterly like a small child, holding her shoulder tight. "I am sorry...I will miss you...I love you..granny..." He was quivering in grief.

"I will forever stay in your heart my little Zeus." Softly she tapped his back and placed a soft kiss on his forehead as the symbol of their final goodbye. "But from now on, you will have to protect her forever... Stay by her side... And...be happy this time, my child. Go...Go back to your love." 

Obediently nodding his head in response, he hugged her once again for the last time and with a heavy heart, he turned back away from her. Eva was still standing holding a warm smile on her face and as soon as he witnessed it, he took a step forward in her direction with a teary emotional gesture.

"I am coming to you...I chose you...now and forever...Eva..." Murmuring out his words aloud, he started to run towards the direction gathering every strength in his body at a bold pace.

HAWWHHH!

Huffing a deep breath, Zeus opened up his eyes slowly and took a profound blow of air out. His vision was blurry but slowly it turned out clear. He could see his surroundings and miraculously it was his own room where he was lying down on bed wrapped up in bandages. His whole body was aching hard and he took a deep breath in to calm down himself.

"E...Eva... I am...back..." That was the first word he murmured out, in a crooked deep voice.
