My Destined Werewolf Mate

"Huh? Zeus, what do you mean--"

Before she could finish off those words out of her mouth, in the blink of a second Zeus took a huge flight, straight up on the air by stomping his right feet on the ground. With the sudden leap, scared and shocked Eva immediately tugged herself inside his arms, closing her eyes tight while clenching her grip on his jacket. Taking several huge leaps over one balcony to hook for support, Zeus steadily landed on the wide terrace, grasping her small body within his strong embrace. 

"We have arrived. Look, Eva." Whispering softly in her ears, he slowly released his snug grip around her waist, moving a few steps away.

Anxiously breathing hard, she gradually unfolded her eyes, blinking in a disoriented manner. They were standing on the wide vacant terrace of her residence complex under the giant illuminant moon beaming up the entire starry sky as well as the whole terrace. A few fireflies were fleeting around them along with the night breeze which utmostly made the entire night view extremely magical standing up so high!

"The moon looks... so beautiful from up here, isn't it?" Gazing up at the sky with a small smirk on his radiant grimace, he murmured softly. 

Eva stood stiff for a few minutes, gawking at him intensely with her fretful eyes. "Bu-But Zeus, what the heck just happened now? It-It's such a skyscraping building... Did you just... fly here?"

"No, I just jumped up to here." Shifting his gaze at her pale confused eloquence, he conducted his words holding a proud smirk. 

"But...how did you do--"

"Eva, I know you are aware of my real truth." This time, his expression turned a bit stiff, staring deeply into her perplexed eyes. "Even though, I...I have many things to tell you, Eva... I am not a human, unlike you. And this is my disguised form which I had to obtain to live among these humans... As you have known already, so, I don't have to conceal my powers from you anymore. And to be honest, I really love these desolated places like up here, so far from the ground... from the humans and...most peaceful." He shifted his deep enchanting eyes towards the giant moon again.

"Do...Do you dislike humans that much?" Fidgeting anxiously, she murmured while lowering her eyes down on the ground away from him.

"I despise humans." This time a cold, stiff voice responded back from Zeus with his eyes still fixated at the endless starry sky. Taking a deep huff of breath inside, he continued, "humans have always caused us endless pain... They have always...betrayed us... No matter how much kindness we had showered, it never mattered to them... That's the reason, I despise them, truly." 

Somehow his deep glum voice caused an unusual ache in her heart while she stood numb, without uttering a single word. She was strangely nervous as well as a bit disheartened with his verdict as she herself was a human indeed!

"But you are different, Eva." 

All of a sudden, she flinched hard as Zeus proclaimed aloud while walking a few steps closer to her. Holding a blissful smile on his face, he softly caressed her side face before answering further, "my whole world revolves around you, Eva. You are...You are so different... so strange... I don't know how, but you are always able to make me go insane whenever you get out of my sight... My heart had almost stopped beating when I got to know that...you sneaked in our mansion..." 

Startled and numb, she stared at him straight in his dark dubious eyes swirling her pupils wider. Gulping down, she reciprocated back, "you...you know about it?"

"Did you think that you will keep it hidden from me, forever? Eva, how could you do such a dreadful act? I was lying lifeless over the bed...I didn't have a single clue of what's going on around me...What would I have done if you were attacked by someone in there?" He inquired in a blunt tone, frowning his brows.

"Then what other choices I was left with apart from sneaking in? I...I was dying inside helplessly to have a glimpse of you... even it's for just once! Can you even ima--" All of a sudden, her words halted along with her sharp gaze locked on his abdominal part where the bandage was soaked in blood! He was indeed bleeding quite vigorously!

"Oh my gosh! I...I forgot about the bleeding! Why did you jump so high in such a state? You must have severely ripped open the wounds! Damnit!" Grasping his shoulders hard, she shrieked out.

"Don't worry, Eva, it's just a small wound. Nothing much would affect me--"

"Shut up and sit down quietly!" In a loud panicked voice, she commanded while pushing him sturdily against the giant edge wall of the terrace forcing him to sit down still on the ground. Quite involuntarily, Zeus obeyed her command and tentatively sat down along with her. Immediately she ripped a large fabric piece of her skirt and tried to tie that lace of cloth over his injured area, while his bewildered fond eyes were still fixated on her doings.

"I am tying this over to stop this bleeding momentarily. You need to dress up this wound as soon as possible. Stay still and don't push any further pressure on it." Her deep sullen eyes were swollen with tears and her rigid voice crooked a bit while she was caressing the wound. It seemed as if she was trying to choke those tears inside with her heart aching to see him suffering painfully.

He quietly sat still on the ground looking at her trying to hold herself intact so desperately. He soon understood her concerns regarding him and softly cupped her face to soothe her worried soul.

"Eva, I am really fine... It really doesn't hurt much...It may be bleeding profusely but I am extremely stronger enough to endure it. It's nothing serious for me. Why are you so worried about me--"

"Do you expect me to believe all these lies when I saw you were brutally stabbed by that monster before my eyes? Do you think I would feel okay to watch you bleeding so helplessly all because of me? No... My heart is not okay at all! I...I am dying inside to watch you suffering so miserably! I can't watch the person I love so much enduring all the torments inside while faking a smile before me! I can't do it...hic..." Suddenly, unable to hold back her emotions, she burst out in tears.

Zeus seemed much nervous to watch her breaking down painfully before him as he gently held her arms tight to calm her down. "Eva, please don't cry... I am really fine--"

"Please don't die, Zeus..." All of a sudden, she gripped his arms with her shivering hands along with bitter tears rolling down her cheeks. "Please don't leave me... I have already lost everything at once... All...All I am left with is...only you...in this world...So, please don't leave me alone... Please... stay alive..." 

Before she could wrap her words, Zeus pulled her into his warm embrace with tears weighing heavyweight of emotions dripping down from the corner of his eyes. Both of them were shedding warm tears in each other's snuggle to vent out the grief they were carrying along all this time to ease the pain from their wounded hearts.

"I...I won't die, Eva... Don't worry... I won't ever abandon you in my eternal lifetime... I will...I will definitely live for you beyond God's will... That's a promise..." Snuggling in her warmth, Zeus mumbled his teary words with a heavy breath.
