My Little Secret

Chapter 24:Know Your Enemy

I walk back to my seat, very annoyed. I couldn't believe the things I had just seen. I brush the thoughts away and try and focus on my article. What was I writing? The visions kept flashing in my head. I get up and walk out. I needed fresh air.

I go down and sit down, by my bike. It was quiet, except for birds chirping at a distance. Luke was in a corner, smoking a cigarette. I wave at him and he waves back. He was standing at the junction, so he could see who was coming this side. His face changed into an evil smile a second later and he looked at me. Oh no. I saw Victor coming towards me, I immediately turn and make a run for it. I did not want to see his face or talk to him. Besides, why was he even here. First, he interrupted my contact and now he acts like he has to pacify me. Something was fishy.

I quickly run into the office, he calls out my name and I ignore him and rush back in. I go back to my seat and bury my head into my hands. Hilda hugs me from the behind to comfort me and I jerk, causing her to cut contact with me immediately. I apologize to her and hug her, knowing what was about to follow.

Hilda had a pretty amazing upbringing, her parents always made sure she was spoiled. I saw a happy child in the visions. Her going through a heartbreak and she coming out of it, she was still a little shaken from her previous relationship but overall her visions gave me a positive vibe.

"I have something to tell you" I look at her.

"You're wonderful" I say and hug her. "And don't worry about it. It's just Victor. He lied about something, Meghan and he, they slept together." I say softly.

"What? When you guys were dating?"

"No, this was like months ago. She's not over him though and she hates me dude. She'll do anything to kick me out." I say.

"Wait, how do you know all this?" Hilda asks.

I freeze. "Well, um, she kinda hinted at it, Meghan." I say nervously.

"Hmm, it can't be true Sof, if it was, Victor would have said something" she says

"Or, we could spy on them" she chuckles.

Seeing a vision of Meghan and Victor, embracing each other, naked, ugh! The worst part was I had a meeting with Victor, since he was my mentor, I was supposed to report to him. I wish I could have avoided the situation but I couldn't.

I make sure we have the meeting in the open and avoid meeting his gaze every time. I walk back to my seat and pack my stuff and leave.

"I have to run errands" I say and run out.

I see Victor following me and run into the supermarket nearby. I decided on doing some shopping since I was there anyway. When I was getting some chips a shady looking guy with a hoodie and a cap approached me. I get alarmed but put a brave face on. He comes closer and I clutch my bag tightly and close my eyes.

"Get the green ones, they're good." He whispers. I open my eyes and turn behind.

"Ivan!" I smile.

"Shh" he says, "No one knows it's me" he whispers.

"Of course," I whisper back.

"What about you Sofia? Who are you avoiding?" he asks. It was weird to hear my name come out of his mouth. He usually called me Sof and now that we were not close anymore. I had asked him not to call me that. Did he miss calling me Sof?

"Um," I say and look down, "Victor" I say and smile at him.

"Of course, the lover boy" he says with his hands in the air. "Let me drop you back?" he offers.

I look at him, for a few seconds our eyes meet and I break contact.

Ivan had the most beautiful eyes. The color of his eyes changed every minute of the day, it was grey when I see him in the night. It was sea green during the day, but the most beautiful was when sunlight or any light hit his eye, it was a mixture of yellow and green. It looked like marbles.

"Sure." I say and follow him.
