Omegaverse: The Alpha X’s Prey

Eddie impatiently waited for the last bell to ring, signaling freedom. Today he was especially impatient because he can't wait to go to Alfie's house for the first time!

Weirdly, Eddie does look forward meeting this Donovan brother that has Alfie wrapped around his pinky finger.

No, he doesn't have any ulterior motives at all... well, not harmful ones anyways.

Eddie just wants to see what Alfie's type is and maybe mold himself into that image. All so that goof can finally look at Eddie.

The moment Eddie laid eyes on the handsome boy, he never stopped staring. Alfie is unsurprisingly popular. Thanks to being a dominant alpha and his unusual purple eyes paired with flaxen hair. Also, being part albino only enhanced his popularity.

The point is, Alfie stands out wherever he goes.

Finally! Eddie is out the door before anyone else. His stylish grey windbreaker flapped behind him as he dashed to Alfie's last class.

As always, there's a crowd of people around Alfie all laughing happily with him. Eddie's heart swells at the thought that he is closest to the shining star. As he makes his way over, the crowd naturally parts to let him in. Everyone knows Eddie's status as Alfie's right hand man.

And yet, even with that status at school, there are still some pesky flies that just don't get it.

As a matter of fact, there are bets placed when the two will make it official and become mates. What they don't know is that Alfie has his heart set on someone else.

But that will change.

"Hey Ally!" Eddie chirps, his pixie-like appearance made him look all the more mischievous. "You're giving me a ride, right?"

Eddie purposefully makes his voice extra flirtatious, insinuating as though they're something more than just friends. Like he predicted the crowd reacts.

"I told you so, pay up!"

"Congratulations!"

"Don't forget us singles here."

Alfie's face burned. Sometimes he wished he could shove all of Eddie's flirty habits up where it the sun does not shine.

"Come on guys, it's just that stupid end of year project." Alfie tries to hush the crowd and shrug off the rumors. Apparently there is no such thing as friends between an alpha and omega. He hopes to change everyone's opinion.

"Yeah, suuuurreee." Everyone was giving each other knowing looks and smirking.

Alfie could only internally sigh as he gave Eddie a side glare. The latter responded by smiling playfully and sticking his tongue out.

"Come on, we need to go." Alfie grabs Eddie's wrist and walks away from the crowd still shouting cheers of congratulations, which only increased when Alfie innocently pulled Eddie away.

Eddie's heart soared. He had always noticed how large and manly Alfie's hands are, but having Alfie holding onto him was a different sensation entirely. Unfortunately the omega's happiness was short lived when Alfie abruptly let go the second they're alone.

"Edward." Alfie was irritated. Many times he asked his best friend to respect his boundaries but Eddie just keeps overstepping them.

Eddie knew Alfie was especially mad whenever he used called him by his full name. The poor omega's heart drops.

"Sorry."

Seeing the usually playful Eddie nervously clasping his hands with forlorn downcast eyes, all anger left Alfie. The alpha let out a long sigh. How can he get mad at Eddie when he looks so pitiable.

"Never mind, my mom is probably waiting. Let's go." His voice regained its usual warmth. Eddie looked up, smiling brightly.

"Let's go!" Eddie happily skipped ahead of Alfie to the drop off/pick up spot at the front of the school.

Sure enough Gabrielle was waiting for them with her "camoflauge" jeep. What Alfie didn't expect to see was Mark in the front seat.

"What's he doing here?" Alfie immediately voiced his displeasure as he entered through the back side door.

"Just helping me errands darling." Gabrielle immediately was all smiles, a complete 180 a few minutes ago.

"Isn't it a school day?" Alfie frowned. He wasn't convinced.

"Anyways, care to introduce your little friend to me?" Gabrielle immediately changed the subject. If Alfie finds out his favorite brother is deathly sick... well let's just say she wouldn't want to be in the room when he snaps.

"Hello ma'am, the name's Lewis, Edward Lewis. Though everybody calls me Eddie." Eddie smiles as he offers a hand to shake. Gabrielle awkwardly twists her body to take up the handshake. Immediately she has a favorable impression of the boy, and Eddie being an omega makes it all the better.

"Hello Eddie, glad to know my offspring has some decent friends." Gabrielle jokes as she drives them home.

The air is tense. Alfie doesn't stop glaring at Mark, not even for a split second. If looks could kill, Mark would have vanished off the face of this planet... a looong time ago, might he add.

"Erm, can I help you?" Mark couldn't help but irk this little boy. He's had enough of the immaturity.

"Yes, if you would please drop dead." Alfie doesn't look like he's playing around. Gabrielle shifts uncomfortably. Mark only laughs it off like it's a joke.

"Oh, you must be Mark!" Eddie remarks. Immediately eyebrows raise.

Curse Eddie's big mouth.
