Chapter 129 - Golden

There was a brief silence in which no one spoke. Justin and Antonino exchanged stares for a moment, and a brief emotion passed Justin's face that no one on the table understood. It was a look of acknowledgment.

Justin grinned and Addison let out a chuckle. "Wow, you'd really wear her out," Addison giggled, "your eyes following her everywhere will be scary at times too."

Antonio grinned. "Wouldn't it? I'd be such a pest."

The table burst into unsure laughter, Fall's face smiling for a second before returning to a thin line.

"My eyes would be scarred having to look at you guys every day," Dramio rolled his eyes. He was jealous, he wouldn't get the chance to do that. At least not now.

"Sigh, same," Santigio nodded, "but enough of your bragging, at least find one first."

Walter chuckled. "Right?"

"The disrespect is unreal," Antonio huffed, "I'll prove you all wrong."

"We'll see," Justin muttered.

Antonio smiled.

"Enough of that, the last performance is going on," Dramio chuckled. He began to turn his head as the music began to seep into the room.

Justin nodded, he turned to his sisters. "You can look up now." In unison they all looked up, their eyes closed at first before opening synchronously.

Everyone at the table and around them turned to them when their eyes opened. It was like a wave of refreshment that washed over them. Like a wave of coolness washing over them. They shivered. The beauty was blinding. A bit threatening in all the right ways.

Despite knowing they were hundreds of eyes on them, the girls didn't flinch, their head rotating to face the performance. Antonio's eyes were drawn to her again and to be honest, it was a bit selfish for that. His promise to wait for them seemingly being broken in seconds when they opened their eyes. He got himself together, looking away from them and focusing on the performance. It was hard a first but got easier when he realized he'd have all the time later to look at them.

"Today, we welcome the last performer who will be seen on one of the highest thrones in her coming years. The pride of the Montnia family and the soon to be the second treasure of the Aucacia Empire, we welcome to the performance, Adria Quinn Montnia, the future queen of our prince Theodore Anton Aarvi," The announcer announced, and the room was filled with tension. The appealing gazes soon turned judgemental as the people were curious about their future queen.

No. Not curious. They were picking on her. Ready to inspect her face like the arrogant people they are, nit-picking to see whether their own daughters would have been fine enough.

Annabeth froze when she heard the name called by the announcer, her eyes switched from calmness to a flurry of curiosity, happiness, and surprise. She brushed a few strands of loose hair behind her ear as a smile began to form on her face. She stole the glances of Addison, Walter, and Falls from one single movement but her eyes never wavered. They were trained to look forward. To see her future queen, she wanted to see Adria.

The room quieted down and the lights dimmed with a song seeming into the room. A figure appeared from the front of the room, her presence not even noticed when the announcer called her name. She had hidden in the darkness of the room to slickly slid out into her dance.

Shivers ran up Annabeth's arm as Adria's face filled her memory.

A woman stood in the middle of the room, her dress with the main theme of gold, purple and black. Wave long dark curls fell to her back and a slick mask covered her face halfway, her closed eyes being the only thing to be seen. She was draped in black, her body covered completely but bits of the fabric on her dress could be seen.

It was a creative dance. Her entire body dripped in beauty while she performed. At her feet, the floor seemed to light up when she moved and like a star in the deep black of the universe, she performed alone shining with more power than Annabeth and her three sisters combined.

As the music continued, slowly parts of her were being introduced to the audience. First came her head as the hood slid down, letting her long flowy deep brown hair into the open. The audience didn't gasp. They didn't have enough self-awareness to do so.

They came to her legs as the bottom button of the cape became loose. Her dance became more expressive, her legs having the space to move, her body having the space to dance. Then came her arms as the pieces of the came covering the front of her body fell down. Once again there was no gasp, but the audience moved as one, their heads moving backward. Her dress was shown.

It was more beautiful than Annabeth's and her sisters. It glimmered and shone under the dim light that was placed solely on her figure. There was a black undercovering beneath her outfit but there were pieces of clothing on top just like Annabeth and her sisters. That was where the similarities stopped.

Adria's dress was much more daring, revealing the same amount of skin but with slits at her hips. There hung a V-necked belt that hung on her wide hips, there were golden beads hanging from threads that hung in an up and down motion from her belt and her bottom piece of her dress was in layers. Two purple pieces sewn into the sides of the belt flowed out and in the middle was another purple piece, covering the front of her legs.

On her arms were arm bracelets. Gold rings bunched together hung tightly to a small section on her arms and another pair on the other half of her arm. From it hung long black pieces of clothing that were left to be free and moved in motion with the dancer. On her chest was a bra shaped piece that was embedded with jewels and circles of gold lining the top of her bra. In the middle of her bra was a golden metal shapped like a circle and from it hung a string stranded of strings, each a deep shade of gold.

On her neck was a black choker and from them hung two V-shaped pieces of clothing. They slid down her collarbone to the sides of a bra where they were sewn in on the inside. On her sheer face cloth covering were gold circles hanging on a thin black strand lining the top of her face covering and on her head was a black headdress with a purple flower and a golden circle in the middle that hung thin threads of purple clothing whose length stopped at her forehead.

The outfit was beautiful enough but the special part of it where the dusts of gold. Raining down from the top of the clothing hanging from her dress were gold showers raining down dots of gold on the royal purple shade. They fell halfway down the purple clothing and as smoothly as they began to rain down, they shimmered to a stop. On the black loose pieces that hung from the arm bracelets were showers of gold that started at the bottom of the piece then were dusted up the black piece stopping right before it met the gold arm bracelets.

On the royal purple flower on the headdress was dusts of golden inside the flower spreading the innards of the petals.
