Shield Hero With Barrier Magic

(Hiro's POV)

Hiro: "Alright, since Raphtalia and Rino are the ones that need a ceremony, how about I go to Riyute just with them? Of course, Rose will be coming too."

I don't know how much info church gathered on me. I don't even know if they know my current location. So, I proposed this.

Eclair: "What am I supposed to do?"

Hiro: "You can level up with Filo and Sakura during that time. I mean, even if you came, you don't have anything to do."

Eclair: "Fine."

Raphtalia: "What about Mikasa?"

Raphtalia asked while looking at the baby dragon looking at us with a confused face.

Hiro: "Of course, we will be leaving her here. Wyndia and others will take care of her, right?"

Wyndia: "Yes!"

Mikasa looked at me with a teary face.

"Gwah!"

Don't make a face like that, my dear daughter. I won't be able to go if you do that. Alright, Hiro, you should harden your heart. I took her into my embrace.

Hiro: "*sniff* Mikasa, be a good girl, okay? No biting other kids. Just play with them. Don't wander anywhere far from here. Daddy will be gone for a while."

"Gwah! Gwah! Gwaah!"

She started to throw a tantrum. Oh, my poor girl.

Hiro: "*sniff* Don't cry. You are a good girl, right. Good girls don't cry. There there."

Rino: "Hiro-sama, we will just be gone for at most two hours."

It's two hours we are talking about! Being away from my newly born daughter for two hours!

Hiro: "*sniff* It's a long time, but wait for me. Okay?"

"Gwah..." She nodded with a disappointed face.

I turned to Gaelion.

Hiro: "Babysit my daughter till I come back."

Gaelion: "*sniff* Who could have thought that I have to babysit my own daughter? You are a cruel person, Hiro!"

Be strong, Gaelion. You can do it. Hmm... Let's say something to motivate him.

Hiro: "Hey, don't be so down. Think about it like this! You can use this opportunity to get closer to my daughter!"

Gaelion immediately became high-spirited.

Gaelion: "That's right! Come here, Mikasa! Argh!"

Hiro: "Rose, you can come out!"

The next moment, Rose who was hiding in the trees appeared beside me.

Rose: "Teleport us to a place without people, degozaru."

Hiro: "Of course, we will be teleporting to the forest."

I changed my shield into Portal Shield.

Hiro: "Alright, we will be right back. Bye girls. Bye Mikasa!"

"Gwah! Gwah!"

Mikasa who was biting Gaelion's tail till that point understood that we are going and waved her hand at us. And she also waved at Rose to which Rose waved back. No one can see Rose's face now but I am pretty sure that she's smiling.

And with that, we teleported from there to the forest. And the next moment, Rose disappeared from my side.

Hiro: "So, we are going to disappear from the church once the ceremony is finished. That means we will be waiting in the town until my shield is ready for the next teleportation. So, any plans of where we can go?"

Raphtalia/Rino: "Aunt Elaria's Love hotel!"

Hiro: "Absolute No!"

I can't believe that it's the first thing they suggested.

Raphtalia: "Well, let's just roam in the city."

Hiro: "Fine."

And with that, I went on a date with my lover and my daughter leaving my wife behind.

It sounds really immoral, doesn't it?

Anyway, we roamed around the town. And the moment Raphtalia saw tasty food, she asked for it. Of course, I bought it. And she made me feed her. And Rino did the same.

I bought some more snacks and went to a place without people and put the food there and signaled Rose that it's for her. I didn't know if she took it though.

(Third Person POV)

Head Priest Bicas is in a bad mood today too. His luck has been very bad since that day at the castle. Most of the nobles in the Church's favor are questioning his favor to the shield. What Hiro did that day affected the most important thing required to run the Church, 'Faith'. Who could have thought that acting like a good person in front of the shield can backfire at him like that?

But he still has to keep acting like a merciful person who sees all the beings in a similar way. Bicas still can't tell if Hiro is clever or just a stupid person with a lot of luck.

But Bicas knows one thing. He has to act as fast as he could to get the situation under his control. He wished the Shield Hero to be similar to the buffoon and Trash. Both of them are being useful to him.

Bicas still doesn't know that Spear Hero released a parasite onto a village which will affect the faith even further. But the other heroes already started being a problem for him.

He is sure that the Bow Hero is the nameless adventurer who is killing the nobles in the church's favor.

He recently received reports on Sword Hero punishing a village for trying to fool him. He never thought of going into details with all the headaches. But he understood that Sword Hero can't be manipulated that easily.

Of course, the church can't help the village. Trying to betray one of the three heroes is a serious sin. So, they can do nothing but give up in the village. The village will lose faith in the Church which will further reduce the number of believers.

His goals are currently, kill the heroes except for the Spear and Bow and take over the kingdom before the queen returned. Once that's done, he can easily stop Bow Hero from taking missions that aren't in his favor and he can turn the country against the Queen after that. Well, after some time in the future, he will be vexed and change his current goal into 'killing all the heroes' though.

Bicas thought of getting some fresh air. He started walking out of the Church but he spotted the person he least wanted to meet this time, Hiro.

He immediately hid behind the nearby pillar so that he can escape without being spotted. But unfortunately, for him, Hiro already spotted the guy.

Hiro: "High Priest Bicas!"

The moment he heard Hiro shouting his name from far, Bicas cursed his luck and started banging his head to the pillar with a crying expression.

After a moment, he stopped banging his head and wore the usual fake smile on his face and appeared before Hiro.

Bicas: "Oh, Shield Hero! What a surprise!"

A surprise that he doesn't want.

Bicas went and greeted Hiro along with Raphtalia and Rino.

Bicas: "Can I know the reason you are here?"

Hiro: "Oh, it's just that Raphtalia and Rino achieved their level cap. So, I am here for their Class upgrade ceremony."

Bicas: "Oh, that's really good news!"

It's absolutely bad news for Bicas. He already knows that Eclair/Claire is class upgraded. And now the other two companions of his are here for Class upgrade. And he can do nothing but watch as their classes get upgraded due to what he did in the past. He did all of that since he was sure that Hiro will die in the Wave. How could he know that Hiro will survive the Wave and spout all that stuff in the castle?

All he can do now is wait. So, he waited for Raphtalia and Rino to complete the class-up ceremony. And after that, he watched as those three went into an alley and when he sent his man to check that alley. It was found empty which didn't surprise Bicas at all. Bicas decided to wait for a chance. And once he gets it, he will kill Hiro without a second thought. But unfortunately for him, Hiro can't be killed.
