Shield Hero With Barrier Magic

(Hiro's POV)

Now that we did some sparring, I think it's better to go back to hunting and gaining experience. These low-level monsters won't gain that much exp for Eclair to level up but we will be hunting these as I am still on a lower level. Well, I am still going with it because I want to absorb their materials though.

Eclair: Let's go hunt some more monsters, Hiro-dono.

Eclair also came to the same conclusion and after going a little more into the forest, we found Mush monsters. I need these materials to create medicine. I need something to cover for my enhanced healing after all.

Eclair: Alright, Hiro-dono, wait here, I will kill them.

It looks like Eclair is going for them. But I can use them for something else too.

Hiro: Wait for a second, Eclair. Although I think that gaining experience is important, I think we should also try to increase our coordination when we are fighting together.

There will be a day where we have to face stronger monsters after all.

Eclair: Alright, Hiro-dono. As you can't get hurt, try to block their attacks and I will attack then.

Hiro: Alright.

And so we concentrated on coordination. I used the shield to stop those that tried to attack us. Well, they really can't hurt anyone of us though. Anyway, we cleared all the mush monsters.

Hiro: Haa... Haa... Let's end it for today, Eclair. We still have to experiment with the shield.

Eclair: As you wish, Hiro-dono.

And so, I absorbed the materials to unlock all types of mush shields and the skills required for making medicine. Compounding.

Eclair: Really? So, the shield gives skills too, huh.

Hiro: I think we should give it a try. Let's find some medicinal herbs, Eclair.

We searched the forest for some herbs and I randomly picked some mushroom and herbs. The mushrooms had poison and I absorbed them to get poison shield which detects poison and gives small poison resistance. After collecting herbs, we went to an area with a single tree and cleared all the monsters in the surroundings so that they won't interrupt us. We sat in the shade of the tree.

Eclair: I think we should try that skill now, Hiro-dono.

And so I absorbed the herbs before starting and it gave me Leaf shield. And there is a skill of the shield that Naofumi didn't use. If you feed the required materials and have the required skills to make an item, the shield can make it for you. Yep. Apparently, Naofumi wasted a lot of time staying up late and making medicine. I would like to give it a try.

Eclair: Do you want me to find some rocks to try that skill Hiro-dono.

I took up the ingredients and fed them to the shield and clicked on the icons to make medicine and a medicine bottle appeared from the shield.

Eclair: What just happened?

Hiro: It seems that the shield can make what I want. given that it has the required skills and ingredients.

Hiro: Do you think we can sell this if this works??

Eclair: Yes.

Hiro: Which one do you think is better? Herbs or medicine?

Eclair: Due to the Waves, I am pretty sure that the medicine will be costly Hiro-dono.

I made medicine with the remaining herbs we collected and put them in our bag.

Hiro: I guess this is okay for today. Phew... I am tired.

I am not really tired. But I think it's better to show a slow growth rather than being OP from the start. I mean if I become OP, I don't get to train with Eclair, right? Anyway, I stood up.

Eclair: Hiro-dono.

Eclair: If... If you are tired. Y... You can sleep on my l.a.p.

Yep. This cute lady just made my heart go doki doki.

I am just staring at Eclair with a surprised expression. Did she do it? Did she just invite me to a l.a.p pillow ?!! She did, didn't she ?!!

Hiro: Yahoooooo!

I jumped in joy holding my fist up in the sky.

Eclair: D... Don't misunderstand, Hiro-dono! I... I am just d... doing this because you are tired and you like l.a.p pillows. A... And I think you deserve a reward for today's hard work!!

I am glad that I am acting like a weak person! I can get rewards by doing almost nothing! I immediately make a barrier to prevent monsters from disturbing this precious time.

(Eclair's POV)

It's fine, isn't it? I mean, Hiro-dono is tired and it only makes sense to let him rest. And he likes l.a.p pillows. If I gave him a l.a.p pillow, I will be able to see his cute sleeping baby face and he will again show that beautiful smile he showed this morning once he wakes up. hehehe. I mean, I am not doing this just for that! Taking rest is also essential. And he deserves a reward for today's hard work. That's why I am giving him a proper l.a.p pillow.

Hiro: I will gladly take that offer!

Hiro-dono immediately lied down and put his head on my l.a.p. He looks so happy. He rubbed his head on my t.h.i.g.hs.

Eclair: It tickles.

Hiro: Soft and Thick. I love it.

Hiro-dono became wide-eyed and we stared at each other with a blush for some time and started smiling at each other.

Hiro: Eclair.

Eclair: Yes, Hiro-dono.

Hiro: I know it's kinda selfish but can you pat my head?

Wha... What was that? Pat your head? I see. Hiro-dono didn't get to experience this with his mother. So, he wants me to do it. He... He is. He is comparing me to his mother. I... I am really happy!
