Shield Hero With Barrier Magic

(Hiro's POV)

Alright, the first round ended. Well, we can roast him as much as we can as long as we don't take away everything. If he loses everything like his girls, his fame, and his trust, the curse series is going to get triggered. Trash tried to calm everyone down. I looked at Bicas and smiled and he smiled back at me but he was really pissed on the inside.

Trash: "Shield Hero, now that you are here? Why won't you introduce yourself and explain what happened in the Wave."

Hiro: "Alright, I am Hiro. The one with the shield. Well, I am currently hiding it as I don't like to showcase. And this is my family and my team. Introduce yourselves, girls."

Eclair: "I am Claire Iwatani, Hiro's wife. Nice to meet you."

Hiro: "She is the strongest in the family, by the way. And she also got her class upgraded recently."

Raphtalia is level 35 now. There is a chance that Raphtalia might become fully m.a.t.u.r.e tonight. I wonder if my heart could take it.

Trash: "Nice to meet you, Shield Hero and team. Now, could you explain the events of your side of the Wave? We want to know how you saved Riyute."

Alright, now time for explaining the events of the Wave. Bicas, It's time for you to play the game 'keep smiling even though you are being roasted on the inside'.

Hiro: "Ah, that... when we are teleported to the Wave, we found that we are nearRiyute and decided to save the village. Well, the reason is that we have a fail-safe, the Portal Shield. We assume that most of them died due to the collapse of the burning bell tower and monsters killed the remaining due to the state we found them."

Itsuki: "So, that's what happened. Really tragic. But I don't understand. Why did they make fire rain on the village without confirming if anyone is in the village?"

Because they don't even care. I looked at Bicas who was not smiling. Wow, that's rare. But he is having a neutral expression. At least he is pissed on the inside.

Hiro: "Maybe they thought killing monsters is better than saving lives? Because it would save more people?"

Itsuki: "But not caring about lives like that doesn't look like justice..."

Before Itsuki could say anything else, Trash interrupted before it went out of hand.

Trash: "Now now. They might have thought that the village is somehow empty. But it's really unfortunate that these soldiers died."

He nodded at me. I looked at Bicas. He really doesn't want me to tell his name.

Hiro: "The second one is the head priest of the church, Bicas T. Balmus."

Everyone looked at him. Hahaha... I don't know what he will be going through. The head priest of the church helped the Shield Demon. It will be a huge loss to him. It will shake the belief of his followers.

Hiro: "Thank you, head priest, Bicas T. Balmus. If you weren't at the church at that time, Claire wouldn't get a class upgrade and I wouldn't get the Portal Shield and I might not get a chance to escape from death today. I am very grateful to you."

All the three girls beside me are seriously trying not to laugh. And Bicas is seriously trying to keep smiling.

Bicas: "You need not thank me, Shield Hero. I just did what God would want. If you want to thank someone, thank God."

Trying to escape and throwing it on God? I won't let you.

Hiro: "No, Head Priest Bicas. It is you. You are the one who made Claire's class upgrade possible for 5 gold when the priest beside you asked for 20 gold and who knows the priest could have told another reason to stop the upgrade. And you personally made everything went the correct way. And you are the one who gave the sand to Ren in my presence even though you knew that he would give some to me. You know that I can't get the sand directly as I quit being a hero, so you made me get it indirectly due to which I am still alive today. Really, Thanks a lot, Head Priest Bicas."

After I was done with the speech, Bicas still kept smiling but everyone who hates the shield is glaring at him including Trash.

Hahaha... I really like the expression you are making now, Bicas. You can't show your real image and hate me in public. And that's exactly why you are being hated now. Hahaha...

Bicas: "You seriously don't have to thank me, Shield Hero."

I can hear you begging me to not thank you in those words, Bicas. And you have to keep smiling through all of this! Hahaha!

Bicas: "Everything I do is God's will. Now, I think we delayed the party for a long time. I request his highness to continue the party."

Trash wasn't even trying to hide his irritation at Bicas.

Trash: "Yes, even though a tragedy happened today, that can be considered an accident. So, we can say that the number of deaths is technically zero. So, I congratulate the heroes for their first victory. Splendidly done, heroes! Tonight, we celebrate! Enjoy yourselves to the fullest!"

Everyone: "Hooray!"

Everyone said 'Hooray' but there is no enthusiasm in most of the people may be due to the previous incident.
