Spider-Man: Rebirth

Chapter 12 - Suit Stowaway

{ } - Toxin, an AI, or other voices in Peter's head

Right after dealing with Eddie, Peter and Nat, the latter keeping V/C from causing damage on the ground since Peter knew his weaknesses better for a fight, went back to Avengers Tower. Peter sent his suit back into standby mode, unknowingly trapping a goopy blob in with it. Later on, after experimenting more with his new webbing, he went back to his office. Planning to maybe change or improve a few things of the suit, he brought it out again.

At first, he didn't feel any change. But then he did. He felt much stronger than before. And faster. Fearing these implications based on what had happened in the past with Venom, he went to a mirror. What he saw was strange. He wasn't coated in the suit as he used to be. Instead, it felt like the symbiote had integrated with the suit. All of the previously white webbing was now a vibrant, kind of bright maroon. Not neon, but light enough and bright enough to tell the color change. The blue of his suit had darkened, too, from a denim color to more of a dark blueberry color. A voice began speaking in his head. {What are you, Peter Parker?}

Cursing, Peter realized that Toxin knew now that he wasn't the original Peter Parker. This would be a very long conversation.

The next morning, after almost no sleep answering questions that a newborn symbiote asked of him, Peter dragged himself out of bed with a groan.

Toxin was...strange. He felt different to the way Venom, or even Carnage, felt. It was like...Venom and Carnage fed off of hate and...well...carnage. But Toxin didn't. Toxin's power and motivation fed off of how much fun he was having, or how bored he was. If he was having fun, he would be very strong. If he was very very bored, then he would be angry, and prone to actually hurting people. Feeling that Toxin may actually be more feasible of a companion than Venom ever could be, what with the corruption of Peter's head, Peter decided he would talk to Toxin some more, a little out of necessity, given how much Toxin already knew about him. As Peter ate breakfast and went about his morning routine, Toxin was actively learning basic or advanced things based off of Peter's memories. And, given that this Peter knew almost every little thing about almost every piece of lore, almost every storyline, and almost every character based in the comics, that was a lot of shit to learn. That didn't mean there weren't exceptions in this timeline, but this was enough to be crucially important.

In the middle of breakfast, his secretary, Rachel, called his cell phone. He answered, only to be met with NOT Rachel's voice. Instead, it was tech rival and arch nemesis Norman Osborn, holding Rachel hostage. Peter sighed. "Norman, why would you take my secretary? As much as I do care about my secretary, you know I could easily come up with another in her absence."

Norman, clearly not having gotten a memo about Peter's love life, had made some pretty bad ȧssumptions. "Oh but you wouldn't let your secretary leave, would you? I mean, how long have you been together? 3 years since your company started?" Norman had a limited array of people he could threaten Peter with, given the around-the-clock protection of MJ and Aunt May by S.H.I.E.L.D.

Peter audibly sighed again. "Norman, that's just my secretary. We're not together." A barrage of deranged curses rang out from the other side of the phone. Peter's company had defenses that were specifically designed to combat Osborn's offence. This was Osborn's only choice. Now he looked stupid.

As this conversation went on, Peter swung through the city from his mechanical, and now partially symbiotic, arms. Where most symbiotes fed on actual people, since the nanotech of Peter's suit had kind of fused Toxin into it as a sort of sentient AI, Toxin fed on other pieces of tech. As a result, Peter's suit would improve and become more and more efficient.

Guiding the glider to the rooftop with well-placed webzips, he webbed it to the roof and shorted it out with a taser webs. Turning back to Norman, he put away his extra appendages and put his fists up. Norman had obviously gotten an upgrade. His suit before, which was like pajamas (comic book Green Goblin) was replaced with an actual suit of a sort of armor. (Raimi trilogy Green Goblin) Peter shot a web to his sides, latching to some AC turbines, and catapulted himself towards Norman. His feet double-kicked him in the stomach, followed by a kip-up that nailed his jaw and a punch to the temple. Norman, irritated, tossed a punch Peter's way, who grabbed his wrist and threw him to the side, slamming him against the roof exit of a stairwell.

After another short scuffle, Peter manifested a hammer from his webshooters, the webs now a dark crimson, and nailed a two-handed uppercut to Norman. Norman, bȧrėly conscious from the hit, had the relative awareness to drop a few pumpkin bombs down at Peter. Nimble on his feet, Peter's other arms shot out and snared the pumpkin bombs in a neat web. Peter spun around and tossed them right back at Norman, who was still falling. This launched him out and over the streets.

Not wanting to kill anybody, Peter shot a web out to hit Norman's ċhėst, pulling him back, from an inhuman distance, and clotheslined him, sending Norman into unconsciousness, and possibly eating from a tube for the next week or two.

After webbing him down, Toxin spoke up. {That glider...it looks tasty. Set your hand on it for me, will you?} Shrugging, Peter walked over to the glider and moved to set his hand on it. Before he even got the chance, Toxin detached some from his suit, those parts of his suit reverting to before he fused to it. Toxin was a dark burgundy or maroon color on his head and neck, his eyes a dull beige. He opened his mouth, which looked more like an abyss than anything else, and suddenly swallowed the glider whole, almost comically increasing in size. The instant that Toxin went back into the suit, he cackled wildly in Peter's head. {Oh this is gonna be fun. Sit tight!}

Right after this statement from Toxin, Peter found himself tossed off a building and gliding through the air in a straight line.
