Chapter 24 - REVISITING THE WORMHOLE!

Cole and Chris tried for the fourth time and finally slid the case aside making sure they did not hurt Matty anymore than he was hurt.

"Can you try getting up now?" Chris asked with concern.

"I guess I could try. Hopefully, they are ok down there. "

Matty replied looking at his freed limbs trying to move them sideways, it ached in the joints but with the help of his two pales, he finally stood up with their support.

"You think you can walk?" Cole polled.

Matty nodded his head, "Yeah...yeah I think I will be alright."

"Then come to me now. I m dying all alone here, blood all over me." Vin groaned.

The three of them laughed finally breathing in relief after brief hard labor and completing it successfully without regrets.

Cole closed his eyes as he wished to locate Vin. He was somewhere in a place called Shelter.

"Vinyl*Intrepid located! Sixty five-degree north of Shelter."

Barbie declared and accordingly three routes lighted on the ground, red, green, and yellow.

"Guys which route do you think will be a good option?" Cole asked.

Chris and Matty were busy acc.u.mulating spare guns or weapons laying elsewhere inside of the apartment. It was important to have extra arms and ammunition with them for what would happen if they ran short of bullets in the middle of the fighting.

While Matty looked for weapons in the same apartment alongside Cole whereas Chris went in search of it in the adjacent apartments.

"Don't ask me. I cannot see the routes when I m ten meters away from you. Ask Matty." Chris said.

"I got it, mate."

Cole raised his hands in surrender. He turned back to ask Matty.

"You heard him Mat. So what do you say?"

Matty took his sweet time examining the three routes highlighted on the ground. The red showed always the shortest length whereas the green showed the longest route and yellow in between both of them.

"If only if red was not as dreadful as you both described, I would choose the red but we cannot. I get it." Matty spoke out.

Before that Cole and Chris had told him how the red route was the deadliest. There were loads of enemies with their partner to heal them when they were injured so knocking them down completely become almost impossible. Plus the wormhole at the end of the route was horrifying.

They still were not sure if it was a wormhole or not but it seemed like one. Perhaps the red route always covered the shortest length of all the two routes because of that wormhole.

"So maybe we should go for yellow?" Matty intervened.

"I have no idea about the yellow one. Cole has it. He followed the yellow one to find me." Chris replied.

"It was alright comparing it with the red one," Cole said.

"Common you guys just chose one and come to me," Vin yelled.

"Don't you have someone to fight? Keep yourself busy until we get you. " Chris snorted.

"I m climbed up on this huge tree watching them fight and kill, hiding and killing. I m bored now and I m afraid there is no bullet inside my M416." Vin uttered out.

"Finally Vin accepting that he officially ran out of bullets from useless kills. " Matty mocked.

"To win the game you got to have the highest kills so they were not useless kills, dumb." Vin angrily blurted out.

"I think we will go for the red again?"

Cole put his thought out in the air ignoring the ongoing fight. That made Matty and Vin stop fighting. Chris almost shouted out on hearing what just Cole told.

"Are you out of your mind? That was as terrifying as hell. I have not been a battleground like that. " Chris screeched.

"But we got to reach Vin as soon as possible and we don't get the facility to board the wormhole in any of the routes but the red ones. We just need to head to the end alive. "

Cole stretched his thoughts and paused for a moment to see if anyone had any objection to it.

"And I know we will make it out alive till there. We are three now. We need to finish the game too. If we run out of time, our worst fear of staying back here forever will turn out to be true because the only way to know out of here is by winning the game so what do guys have to say?"

Cole waited for them to say anything but then there was a brief silence before each one of them agreed.

"I mean I was wondering to get inside that wormhole too." Matty shrugged.

"Let's get going then. Chris come here soon." Cole said.

"I m on my way. For your information, I saw Sikara of the Salsiku team wandering alone in a weird way. " Chris mumbled.

"Perhaps he might be finding his teammate too?" Matty implored.

"Leave it. We need to get Vin and then get where the final battle is happening to win the game." Cole announced.

"And I m here." Chris chuckled standing in front of the entrance after a few minutes.

" We chose the red route." Cole voiced out.

"Aligning red route for travel. Location set for Vinyl*Intrepid. All the best!"

The barbie declared and automatically the red route became more highlighted than the other two routes which disappeared after a few seconds from the ground.

"Let's get going guys." Matty cheered.

"Meet you all on the other side," Vin spoke out.

He was aware of the fact that soon enough he would not be able to hear or talk to his friends because when they were fighting, the sounds were automatically suppressed on fighting mode.

The three of them started walking following the red route at the same time alert too because in no time they would come in face to face to what a real war looked like. There was no place to breathe or talk when they entered the real battleground.

As if everyone was in their own world with only one motive to kill them all and reach the end without a scratch on their body.

"Danger! Enemies ahead!"
