THAT DAY I BECAME A STAR

Chapter 122 - CHAPTER 122: SPARRING LIGHTLY HE SAID (3)

FARNER SAINT AXELANDRIA POV:

After the agreement was made between Kevin and Cordel, one of the knights guarding the headmaster went to the stage and gave each a weapon. Cordel a scythe. He is a prodigy who can use almost all weapons. I really admire him for that. Kevin takes a raizen.

"You are using a raizen?" Cordel seems surprised. That's pretty normal since it is one of the two weapons he never managed to use properly.

"Focus." Kevin is way too angry. His face is so the very expression of anger and murderous intent right now.

"Then.. Start!!"

As the knight gives the signal, Kevin disappears and reappears in front of Cordel.

"What kind of speed was that?" He is faster than me? I can't believe it!

He deploys his physical aura and uses Titanic slash. But, sadly for him, Cordel has light Angas. He uses Wall and blocks Kevin's attack. Though, it was weird. Kevin's titanic slash looked like he stabbed as well. How?

"It is no use. My Wall can't be destroyed by physical attacks."

"Is that so?"

Kevin jumps in again and start clashing with Cordel. They both have a very good mastery of their weapon. But the difference is their way of handling it. Kevin seems to be more of the brute strength type. His attacks are strong and heavy. Cordel is fighting more elegantly, striking with an eagle's precision.

"Fireball." After a minute of clashing, Cordel uses a fireball, forcing Kevin to back away. Then he takes his stance, raising his finger in the air. He is about to use his most powerful script.

"Let's not waste any-"

Before he can do it, though. Kevin throws his raizen to him. It went at such a speed I am not sure Cordel saw it. But he still managed to block it at the last moment using Wall again.

"That was not-"

The same as before, Kevin reaches him in an instant and strikes Cordel's wall with his fist. He imbued his fist with Angas but that was not enough. As his fist strikes the wall, a shockwave sweeps us. That was one hell of a powerful punch there. It should have been only a bit less powerful than mine.

"I just told you…Impossible!"

Kevin backs away after retrieving his weapon, leaving Cordel astonished. The reason: Cordel's wall got fissured. His punch fissured the wall. Everybody seems surprised as well and I understand them. I mean, he broke my gauntlet when we fought. And I can break Cordel's wall with a full charged punch.

"The only thing impossible is you acting like you were sad!!"

Kevin restarts attacking, he strikes even harder now and manages to put Cordel on the defensive.

"Cordel!! Bust him out!!"

"Use your special script!! What are you waiting for?!!"

Everyone is so eager to encourage him. I guess I am the only one who wishes that Kevin woul…Why? Why do I want him to win so much even though I have seen him the same way as everyone did before?

Kevin is slowly but steadily gaining the upper hand.

Or so he must think. From the looks of it, Cordel is actually trying to wear him down, slowly grinding his stamina. And it is working, Kevin's attacks start getting weaker. And finally, Cordel knocks his raizen away.

"It is ov-"

Right when I thought it was over, when Cordel was about to slash through Kevin with his scythe, Kevin disappears and reappears at his left.

"Wha!!!"

"How?!!"

"What the hell!!"

Kevin's fist moves at lightning speed. This time for sure, he will hit him.

"Wal-"

Cordel tried to call his light wall at the last second but Kevin's fist was faster. He punches his ribs so hard the sound of something breaking reaches us. He certainly broke his ribs with this. Cordel flies away and lends a good five meters farther. But Kevin doesn't stop. He pounces like a hungry beast and lands on him then starts punching Cordel's face with all his strength.

Why? Why is there so much hatred, so much sadness emanating from his body? From his every movement?

"Fireball!!!" Cordel uses Fireball and it hits Kevin's face, creating a loud explosion. Kevin's head is a bit thrown away and Cordel tries to free himself in the meantime but the onslaught starts again.

"Argh!!" Kevin punches Cordel hazardously, hitting anywhere and everywhere, some punches even hit the ground instead.

"Cordel!!" Esteressa tries to enter the stage but the knight referring to the match looks at her so coldly her body freezes in place. Those guys are as strong as a vice commander of the eternal army. The royal guards in charge of protecting the royal family and any others directly related to them.

"You fucking!!" Cordel finally manages to free himself by kicking Kevin with both legs. As Kevin lands, I see why he was hitting everywhere.

His eyes got hit by the fireball and his face is burnt. He can't see anything right now. Doesn't it hurt like hell?

I got hurt by a shard once. It didn't hit my eyes directly but still, I know for sure that wounds to the head are terribly painful. Well, at least he is not going to be upset that is hair burned as well like Keltia, right?

"Yeah, finish him!!"

"Do it now, Cordel!!"

Everyone cheers him up and presses him to finish the fight but…

"Huff…Huff…" Cordel is tired as well. His face is bruised all over and his nose is bleeding. I don't think I have ever seen him so injured. Though, we never fought.

"You know…Huff…Huff…You are a good fighter…a good warrior…huff…But!!!"

Finally, Cordel raises his finger in the air. This time for sure, he will use it. Kevin has lost his vision and he looks like he is trying to focus in order to find Cordel's position but with everyone making so much noise, I am sure he won't be able to. He also seems staggered; he is slightly rocking back and forth.

"This will be the end of you!!! PILLAR OF  LIGHT!!"
