THAT DAY I BECAME A STAR

"You sneaky bastard!!" Esteressa attacks me right after Cordel is announced to have lost their turn. She leaps forward like the hungriest beast ever and reaches me in only one jump.

The knuckles she has on covers her whole forearms and are quite thick, they must heavy. she punches with all her strength but hits the wind as I evade it. Then, she makes the same mistake as Lanuvel, she puts her foot slightly more forward than she needs to. I kick it and as she stumbles, I hit her neck with the knob of my raizen.

"Argh!" She falls to the ground and starts wriggling while holding her neck with her hand. It didn't knock her out? Did I use less strength than I thought?

"Watch out!!" I raise my weapon again but when I want to strike her, her teammate calls out to her and she rolls away from me.

"Bastard!!" She stands up in furry and comes again.

"That's enough.. Group three has lost."

Smith announces their loss right as her hand and my raizen collide.

"What?!! Why?!" She turns around and goes to the teacher, walking in big strides.

"You know the rules, you aren't allowed to speak between teammates."

"But we didn't…" Esteressa calms down and looks back at her teammate who is near Lanuvel. He is the one who called out to her, telling her to watch out.

"Tch."

"That is that. Wait for the remaining four minutes." At the same time, I hear the wind being cut right behind me.

I turn around only to find Germinia wielding what looks like a whip-sword on the group of four people. Her teammates are even obliged to stay away from it because of the way she is swinging it. Though, it is more incredible to see the four guys avoiding it while supporting each other. Their timing is precise and they have great coordination.

Every time one of them makes a mistake while avoiding Germinia's whip, another comes and blocks the whip. If the angle of the attack is too narrow or difficult to predict. The one who is most far away from it makes a sign with his hands and the others immediately act, dodging the sword like nothing. Germinia's teammates also start using their scripts but they are disorganized. Their script either collide against each other or with Germinia's dancing whip.

"What are you bastards doing?!"

"That's enough. " And just like that, Germinia's team is eliminated. "Let's switch the group. One and three, two and five, four and six. Fight."

"Okay, This will be the last fight so we will go for ten minutes."

Two hours later, everybody is exhausted. Fighting for two hours has drained everything from them. They are all sweating like crazy. In my case, well…

"I see that you can still keep up." Frankher has noticed that I am still relatively okay. I am sweating like the others but I don't have any problems standing. Perhaps because I can't feel pain, I don't have the same stamina threshold as the others.

We have fought like fifty times or something. and out of it, we have the most victories. We lost only seven times and that was because Judy tried to warn either me or Lanuvel. Thankfully, by the seventh time, she learned her lesson.

We have defeated all teams at least twice as well. Though the beta's students team were the hardest to. They really are organized. If only they were stronger, they would a force not to mess with.

"For the last ten minutes, all teams will fight the others. Now, fight!"

Right as Smith shouts, every eye turns to me. Not even the other members of my team, just the poor little me.

"Come on, guys…Seriously?" The flames burning in their eyes won't be satiated until I am defeated, I am sure of it.

I raise my hand and point it at Esteressa. She immediately jumps back. In the meantime, I can see Germinia moving from the corner of my eye. The sound of her whip comes like thunder as I retrieve my hand just in time. They are seriously all aiming for me, that's bad.

"You are mine!" Peter also shouts as he uses his scripts. Since it is a large-scale attack, Judy who is next to me might get hit. Ah…What to do? What to do?

Well, I guess it is time to get serious. I haven't used my specialty so far so now would be a good time. I use Disperse and reappear right in front of Peter as his script activates.

"Boo!"

"What the-" I strike his hand then his chin with the raizen's knob. I can hear Cordel's scythe coming so I use Disperse again and land behind him. But I don't manage to hit him. The reason? I appeared right in front of Keltia. She apparently started running when I appeared near Peter.

We collide and fall as her head hits mine.

"Ugh!"

She falls on top of me and her…Chest completely covers my sight.

"Hrmmm!" Instead of getting away from me, she grabs my head instead and apply more strength to pin me into that position.

"I got you now!" Is she trying to suffocate me? I guess she is seeing how she is pressing her chest on me. I try to kick the ground with my foot but right as I raise it, something, somebody grabs it.

"You are going to pay for earlier!" That's Esteressa! Oh shit, this is not good! What are Lanuvel and Judy doing?!

"You are in the way!!"

"So what?! You just need to defeat me then!!"

Germinia has already moved to Lanuvel's side. I guess Judy is busy with somebody else as well. I don't think I can use Disperse in such a situation. So the only option is to fly.

"Hrmm…" I tried to say sorry to Keltia then rise above the ground with her still clinging to me.

"Kyaa!! What is this?!" She screams and releases me as I reach the height of a tree.

"You fucking…! So it was true!!" Esteressa is still on my foot, however. She releases me but at the same time, I hear it, and barely evade it on time.

"Tch! Just fucking stay in place." Samson just fires his script. The lightning arrows. So he still had enough power to use it, huh…He stopped after forty spars or something, so I thought his Angas was almost depleted.

I sue Disperse again and this time, land behind Germinia who is keeping Lanuvel busy. Lanuvel had launched a strike aiming at her shoulder and Germinia was already in a position to block it when I appeared. I simply kick Germinia rear knee and destabilize her.

"Wha-" Instead of her shoulder, Lanuvel hits her neck quite hard. So hard, I almost feel pain for her. Germinia falls to the ground with foam coming out of her mouth.

I hear a sweeping sound behind me so I carry Lanuvel and jump to the side. We land while turning around, only to find Keltia who has activated her special script.

"I guess we can go all out now, huh…" Lanuvel says as she walks forward. "QUEEN OF ICE!!" She activates her script as well and immediately pounces on her rival. As their weapon clad in ice and wind clash, the air becomes even chillier and bits of ice are projected everywhere.

"Woah!!" I evade an arrow that came from behind in the nick of time. I should get this over with as well.

I reach the two members of Esteressa's team and fight them for a bit. Normally, it should come right…NOW. I suddenly jump to the side and Esterssa appears like a beast, punching one of her teammates instead of me. Yup, I got the timing right.

"Fuck!! Can't you get out of the way?!!"

"And why the hell did you punch me for?!! You brutish woman!!"

"What?!!"

"Esteressa. Your team is disqualified."

"Argh!! Fuck this!!"

"Hey, no hard feelings, right?" I ask her as she looks at me like her nemesis.

"Tch!!" She walks out while taking all her time. Even going as far as throwing her knuckles at me. Right as I catch it, however…

"You left your guard down." Cordel is already in position. His hand raised to the sky. Wait, he is going to use that thing here?! Just for a small spar.

"PILLAR OF LI-"

"I thought it was just a light spar." I use Disperse and land to his side. But as I raise my eyes, Samson is already aiming at me.

"LIGHTNING ARROWS!!" Shit, they got me. it was all planned. Damn!! They really did manage to communicate and elaborate a plan to counter without talking.

The dozens of arrows fly and hit us both, Cordel and I. So it was a suicidal attack. Not too clever, but efficient, I guess. To a certain degree.

I reinforce my raizen with lighting Angas and knock off the arrows.

"Light wall!" At the same time, Cordel puts on a Light wall and while it blocks the arrows on his side, he also attacks me.

"That's cheating!!"

"You are the cheater here!" It becomes a double-focus fight for me as I have to block both Cordel's attacks and Samson's arrows. These guys took this way too seriously.
