THAT DAY I BECAME A STAR

KEVIN DRAGONROAD POV:

"Ahaha!! Yes, that's it!! Struggle more!!" 

This woman or leader or whatever she is doesn't seem too bright. She hasn't realized yet that I am just going easy on her. Or maybe she is waiting for me to do so? In any case, we have been countering each other strikes for the past two minutes, giving enough time to Excia to bring her sisters to Rebecca, behind me. Now that they are out of my way, I can get a bit more serious.

"Okay, let's-"

Before I can finish my sentence, I feel Willhem coming in, then the next moment, the Longinus leader receives a kick on the face that sends her away. Though she lands on her feet without much trouble, unlike when I punched her. She spits out black blood from her mouth that makes the ground turns grey as soon as it touches it. 

"Who are you? Why are you interfering?" 

"Yeah, she is right. I was enjoying myself here.." What do you want, Willhem?

An explosion tears through the battlefield. It seems Thando is going full out without restraining. Is that why Willhem came here instead? 

He releases his aura and just like Thando, it takes a dragon's form around his body. 

"I should the one to ask that. We are fighting you without even knowing your name."

"Hey, Willhem. Go away. This is my fight." 

"Ehhh?!! But that guy is dealing with all of them alone already." 

"I don't care. Help the survivors or something. But don't bother me." 

"Tch. Stingy." 

"Right." He leaves and goes to a soldier that was lying on the ground. Yeah, keep yourself busy as much as you want. But this one is mine. 

"Are you guys done?" 

"Yeah, though I am surprised you waited for us." 

"Oh, I am in no hurry. I will eventually kill you all. I may not be the queen anymore but I am still powerful to deal with you." 

"The queen?" Wait, the Longinus have a queen? And she said 'was'? what does she mean?

"You aren't the queen anymore? What do you-"

"Anyway, you may call me Lucia. As it the name of the first hero I ate, I think it should be enough." 

"Sacrilege!!" Rebecca's voice let herself be known. Though nobody really wants to hear it. "How dare you use the name of our heroes to name yourself, monster?!!" 

"You are annoying." Lucia, as she decides to call herself, throws her axe at Rebecca but I use Sphere to protect her. I should be the only one to do that later. The time has not come yet.

"So you would protect your parents even in this situation? That's a weakness you should get rid of. Or you will lose this fight." 

"Protect?" Are you stupid? "I am the one who is going to finish them off. You don't get to do it." 

"Oh, playing the hard to get, huh. If you say so. KILL THOSE TWO!!" 

"Kriekk!!" 

Lucia screams her order and the Longinus still alive answer in unison. Oh well, they won't make it anyway, but if they do. 

"See, you are wide open." Lucia has made her move and reaches me in a matter of seconds. Though I knew she was coming, it seems she thinks I didn't. Well, let's leave it at that and see how far she can go. 

She strikes a first time and I block it with Sphere. Then her second strike with the spear of her lower right hand breaks it and I block with Raizen. Her second left hand stabs with the spear but I send a bullet and it is deflected. The spear passes by my ribs. 

"I told you were wide open." 

She swings her spear and strikes me, sending me in the air. While I am flying away, she reaches me and strikes again with her sword. I block once again and we restart clashing. 

"Come on!! Where is your enthusiasm from earlier!! Show me more of that vigor!! Let go of those burdens!!" 

"Kriekk!!" 

A dall tries a surprise attack from behind while I am fighting her but I got this covered. He receives a bullet and Lucia smiles like a demon right after that. What is she smiling about? 

"What are you smiling about?" 

I counter her attacks again and again and again. The patterns she follows are quite simple. It is sword, then spear and spear. Then spear, sword and sword, and finally spear, spear and sword. Even the angles are almost the same every time. But I know, judging by the way she is fighting, I know that this is all an act so that I drop my guard. I can tell. And you can be sure that I follow you to the end.

"Do you know why I lost my position as the queen?" 

"Who did you lose it to, anyway?" Why do I even bother asking? It must be another Longinus that defeated her and took her place. 

"It was because I got overconfident. Just like you." 

Finally, she changes the pattern of her attacks, the hand holding the sword now does an upward strike, while the right-hand spear slashes. I jump back to avoid it and here seems to lie the trap. She smiles and throws her other spear with such speed you wouldn't be able to evade it. That is if it was somebody else. 

"You think I am overconfident?" I use Disperse and land on her back. It is great that you are using a horse form. It is easier to land on you. I pierce through her mouth from behind and the crystal that is located in her head comes out. "Then you should learn the definition of that word." 

"Kevin!!" Abruptly, I hear the sweet and gentle voice of Farner. Finally, she is awake. I look at her but then it hits me. Lanuvel…Lanuvel is missing. 

I look near the heroes, I look everywhere on the battlefield but I don't see her anywhere. 

"Look out!!" Farner warns me and at the same time, Lucia strikes my head somehow. I didn't see it coming. I fall to the ground and right as I get up, a flurry of strikes rains on me.

"I told you not to be overconfident!!! Now, you will die!!" 

She strikes times and again but aside from her first strike that made me see red from my left eye, the rest are nothing. More importantly, if you guys killed her, then I will make you pay; all of you.

I grab Lucia's sword as she was going for another strike and break it.

"What?!!!!" 

"It is time to get serious."
