The Devil's Curse

Chapter 11:Illusions: Betrayal (1)

Heather Wu

Oh wait, I get it. Kurushimi most likely need something from Asmodeus, since from what Belphegor said is helpful, and tried to leave, but according to Asmodeus's rules, he can't leave without fighting him. Asmodeus most likely beat up Kurushimi. Kurushimi is vengeful, so he most likely went to Raikou to get a torturing tool like an Iron Maiden or something to get back at Asmodeus. Then he went to town to get some magic pills to enhance his magic so that he can actually fight Asmodeus with equal power. This all make sense now. I told what I thought to Belphegor and Ava.

Belphegor said, "Oh, that makes sense," while Ava screamed "You gotta be fucking kidding me! I'm trying to get rid of this curse. I don't wanna play a shit game of tag anymore! I wanna beat him up!"

"Alright, alright. Let's go to Kurushimi's castle now." Belphegor said.

~~~~~~shortly after...they get to Kurushimi's castle~~~~~~
"Finally. We're here!" Ava screamed.
Belphegor asked, "Is Kurushimi back yet?"
"Yes, he is. Please come this way," the prison guard replied. He brought us to Kurushimi.
"Dear great Belphegor, what brought you here today?" Kurushimi asked.
"I came to ask, if you can take this curse off of my friend, Ava?" Belphegor pulled up Ava's sleeves and shows it to Kurushimi.
"And why should I?" Kurushimi sneered.
"Because Ava wasn't part of the betrayal and has nothing to do with the village betraying you." Belphegor replied.
"Fine. But only if they pass." Kurushimi evilly smiled.
"Pass what?" Ava asked.
"Pass a test. Belphegor, use your powers to make a test about betrayal. If you don't, I won't remove the curse. If they both pass it, I will help you," Kurushimi laughed.
Belphegor apologized, "I'm so, so sorry. Thousands pathways!"
Did Belphegor just betray us? I knew he was a good for nothing scum! What is this place? There is a door in front of me, but what should I do? Do I just push it? Alrighty then.
The door creaked and opened. "Hello, my name is Isabella. I am the guardian of this door. Please get drowned in misery and betrayal. This might be your future. If you become a vengeful person, you will fail," Isabella said. She then bowed and left.
Huh? Where am I? Why can't I speak? "Oh my god, everyone run!" Who said that? I opened my eyes in shock. In front of me was my mafia. Every single one was being slaughtered. Not one has survived. Tears started rolling down my eyes. Make this stop, make this stop! "If we didn't storm in and actually thought of a way to bring down the Dragon gang, we actually would've failed!"
The scene shifted.
We're at — school?
"Hahaha! Did you hear? Ava's gang was taken down. She is nothing more than trash now! Hahaha!" the bullies laughed. "Girls, who wants to go torture her first?" All of them laughed and said, "Let's go and make her life miserable."
I saw me, the future me, screaming as they punched her, cut her hair, and wrote LOSER on her back. Not one person stepped in. They all laughed and jeered at my face. I saw Heather turn her back on me and left.
What! Why? How could she? I thought she was my friend! Why is she doing nothing? Did she just befriend me before because a teacher asked her to? Now that I am reduced to trash, she's not helping me? Why Heather, why? What did I do wrong?
The pain and anger took control of me. I wanted to punch her, kick her until she couldn't stand up. I wanted to make the bullies suffer for what they did to me. Why, why, why? Wait, hold on, this isn't real. No, this can't be real. The guardian said that this might be a possible future. And she said that if I am consumed with revenge, I won't pass. So, is this vision false? Heather is not like this? Wait, no. I was wrong. Ava, let's calm down. Heather always helped me before. I am wrong! In fifth grade, someone framed me for stealing! Heather was the only one that stood up for me! The person who framed me, was a spoiled rich girl. I remember she hated me! No, Heather didn't betray me!
"Stop showing me these visions! I know Heather would never betray me like that!" I screamed.
"You pass," Isabella said. "As I have said you shall be released." She bowed again and disappeared. The world started shifting around and I landed back in Kurushimi's castle.
"Humph. You passed. But I am not so sure that your dear friend will pass," Kurushimi sneered.
"She will pass, just you watch. Not everyone is vengeful like you. We forgive. Some people didn't mean to betray, but if someone did they must have a reason," I retorted.
"Alright then, Heather it's your turn. Don't fail," I whispered.
