"So...."

"What?"

Emily gently smacked me on the arm making me almost spill my drink.

"You know what I mean. The reason I came here. What's he like?"

"Okay, so his name is Leon Hayes. He graduated at the top of his class. One older sister and a little brother. Is one year younger than me. Birthday is October 12th. He's shy and can be kind of clumsy. But the one thing that gets me is his background."

"What is it?"

"I don't know much actually other than what I told you about him. I actually tried to do a background check, but didn't find anything other than this."

"That is weird. Normally, you can find anything on anybody."

"That's why it's weird, but he isn't a bad person. You know how I can see through people."

"All hail the all seeing eye."

"Stop calling me that. You know I hate that name."

"Putting all jokes aside why did you fall in love with him."

"I feel comfortable with him. He just so innocent that it makes me want to be with him."

"Okay I get it. Now enough with the sappy stuff. What are making me?"

"Huh?"

"I didn't anything since lunch. I miss your food. Unless you want me in the kitchen...."

"That okay you just sit there."

I scramble out of my seat and head towards the kitchen. While my sister is a great actress, she is hopeless in the kitchen. I didn't know what troubles could be caused just by boiling water before I've seen her in there. I shiver just thinking of that.

I made a light, healthy dinner just for her. She has the tendency to avoid eating vegetables. Sometimes I wonder if she's a child trapped in a woman's body. Once I got done with the preparations I started cooking. I made a roasted vegetable bowl with black beans, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, romesco sauce, and parmesan-parsley crumbs.

I made it a couple of times before and it turned out really well. For dessert I already had some lemon meringue pie. I still had a couple of slices from the one I had made before.

"Dig in."

I started my portion when I noticed she wasn't touching her food.

"What is this?" She looked at me suspiciously.

"A vegetable bowl."

"Why?"

"As your sister it's my job to make sure you eat properly. Eat it or no dessert."

"What did you make?"

"Lemon meringue pie."

She narrowed her eyes at me then looked at her food. She took a bite. In between eating I her say "Monster"

"But I'm your monster."

"You know for my sister you are so mean."

As soon as we were finished I brought out the pie. She took a big piece.

"You'll get fat" I teased.

"I don't care. I could get married to this pie."

I chuckle then start my piece. It has a little to much sugar. I'll have to keep that in mind next time.
