"You can stay over for the night. It's late, so I don't want you out."

"Okay mom"

"Stop it or you can sleep in your car."

"I'm sorry; I'll be good."

I finished washing the dishes with Emily then head to my room to get her some nightwear. I had a silk dark blue pair of pajamas, and I had a matching pair in black. I show her to the guestroom, but she insisted on sleeping with me. My bed was big enough, but she gets clingy in her sleep. I'm the type of person how needs her space.

"Please."

She gave the puppy dog eyes. The one thing I can't refuse."

I sighed, but said okay.

We slipped into bed, and continued talking. I don't know at what point but we fell asleep.

The next morning I woke up groggily to a very annoying alarm. I fished out my hand to shut it off, but my hand only met air. Angrily I finally found it and slammed the button to turn it off. After a few seconds of silence, I got out of bed.

I walked slowly to the bathroom, and brushed my teeth. I noticed a note on the mirror.

MY DEAR SISTER,

I SORRY I'M NOT HERE WITH YOU, BUT I HAD TO HEAD TO WORK.

WITH THE GUY YOU LIKE, I THINK YOU NEED TO BE MORE AGGRESSIVE.

AFTER SO LONG I THINK YOU DESERVE LOVE!

~EMILY

P.S. I TOOK THE LAST PIECES OF PIE. THEY ARE JUST TO GOOD. MY

FUTURE BROTHER IN LAW WILL BE VERY HAPPY.

This note made me smile until I read the last part. She took the last pieces. I breathed in then out, and let it go. It was a little bit to sugary.

After reading the note, I put it back down and hopped into the shower. I had the hobby of taking lengthy showers. I gave me time to think and process everything. I knew Emily was right. If I wasn't more direct nothing would happen.

When I finally got out of the shower, I put on a towel and blow-dried my hair. I walked in my closet then chose a white blouse with a black blazer, and a tight fitting, black skirt that reached my knees. I tied my hair into a high ponytail. Finally I put on some simple black pumps.

I grabbed my purse and headed outside. My driver was waiting outside. He held the door open and I stepped inside. I put on my seat belt and leaned against the window. Traffic was slow, but we eventually arrived. I walked through the doors and was immediately greeted by everyone.

It's these moments when I realize I'm in charge of everything. It felt a little overwhelming at first, but I got used to it. As I was about to go into my office, I was greeted by Leon.

"Good Morning"

I said good morning back and closed the door. While I wanted to be more direct I realized I had no idea how. Yesterday I didn't get much done, so I immediately dived into my work. Before I knew it, it was time to meet my father.
