The Unsurpassed Maiden

Chapter 124 - 124 - The Call Of The Wild

After finally getting what Hae Choon meant, Mi Young decided to find another way in order to help herself and Hae Choon escape. She didn't know spells can be this complicated. So the black haired girl mentally promises herself that once she gets out of here alive, she would study more about spells. If they get out…

"What are you thinking?" Hae Choon questions. When Mi Young looked up at him, the other party was already giving him a curious expression. "You look like you're about to combust any second now. I thought I already told you not to think about anything that can get the beast's attention?"

Mi Young's eyes widened upon hearing what the other party had just said. She immediately put a hand on top of her chest to feel her heart rate. When she realized it was thumping rather too fast, she immediately thought about something to calm herself.

The black haired girl looks up at Hae Choon, and while scratching her head she says, "Sorry about that."

"What were you thinking anyway?" Hae Choon asks once more.

The black haired student sighs at first before answering the taller man's question, "I was just thinking of another way to escape here without using the spell book."

"Don't think about it too much. I'm sure we'll figure out something." Hae Choon replies. He seemed rather too calm for this kind of situation and Mi Young wonders if it has something to do with his experience.

"Come to think of it…where did they get these savage beasts?" Mi Young asks while she lets her eyes roam around the room.

"Probably out of the walls."

"But how come they were able to get out? I thought the walls were enchanted and no matter how hard you try to climb up it will only get higher and higher." Mi Young says with a confused look.

"Uhn. That's true. Ning Gwang's parents were the ones who put a spell around the walls." Hae Choon answers with a definite nod.

The black haired girl's head immediately whipped towards where Hae Choon was sitting. "Really?"

"Did she ever mention to you that her parents are one of the first ever group of Great Mages?" The other party asks. When Mi Young shakes her head, Hae Choon continued with his story. "Her parents are one of the best spellcasters in the whole Mage kingdom. Rumor has it that it runs in the whole Hwang clan. Anyway, the people inside here must have someone who knew how to counter spells so that is probably why they were able to get out of the walls."

"You can counter spells?"

"Uhn. If you know how then you will be able to stop someone from using a spell against you." Hae Choon says. He stops for a moment before he turns his full attention towards the black haired girl, "Come to think of it. You said you came from Mistwood Academy, right?"

"Yes. Why?"

"Why are you here? I mean, what's the reason why you and your companions are out of the academy?" Hae Choon asks while looking at the black haired girl straight in the eye.

The young student bites her lip the moment she remembers why she was here. She contemplates for a second if she should tell the truth to Hae Choon. Then, she remembered that if she dies here, no one will be able to know her story. So with a sigh, Mi Young answers. "Well, I kept on having these dreams."

"Dreams?"

Mi Young nodded. "But they're not just any ordinary dreams. It kept on telling me a prophecy."

"Prophecy? What a prophecy?"

"I can't tell you here. Not when someone might hear us. But I think this prophecy I kept dreaming about was talking about me." Mi Young replies in a serious tone. She realized she hasn't slept for a day, that's probably why she felt like it's been ages since she last dreamt of the prophecy.

"So the reason why you came here was because of the prophecy? But why here?"

"Lady Ning Gwang said that the only person who could help me understand my own prophecy was her cousin. That's why we came here." The black haired girl says as she remembered the face of her teacher's cousin.

"Ah. Right. I forgot she was here." Hae Choon says.

Mi Young really wanted to ask more about the relationship between the six of them but the moment she was about to open her mouth, a sudden cold and creepy feeling surrounded them.

"What's that?" The black haired girl asks while hugging her own self. "For some reason it suddenly went cold."

"Sh*t. So that's how it is." Hae Choon says while standing up. He looks around and when he spots what he was looking for, his gaze widens in surprise. "Mi Young, quick! Produce some fire!"

"Why?" The young student asks, sounding confused.

"Just do what I say!" Hae Choon exclaims making the black haired girl jump from where she was sitting. She immediately went on to produce a medium sized fireball using her Pyro mana.

After that, Mi Young quickly stands up to look at what Hae Choon was also looking at. When she finally saw what the other party was looking at, the black haired student's eyes widened as well. "Holy…"

"I think all of the beasts here have their own elemental magic." Hae Choon says while staring at the beast who was shooting ice balls from his mouth.

"That's Cryo magic." Mi Young replies while she keeps on staring at the beast who was continuously producing ice from his mouth. "Why do all the beasts here have ancient elements?"

"I think that's their main goal. They want to produce savage beasts under their command and make them have the lost abilities from the lost clans." Hae Choon says while still gazing at the beast. When the young student looked at him she saw the other party clenching his fist hard on his side.

For some reason, Mi Young can feel his anger as well. She really wants nothing but to turn this whole place into thousands of pieces. A lot has suffered already just because of these selfish people's acts. Innocent lives were lost, be it the lives of the human race or the beasts. None of them deserves this kind of treatment.

"It's freezing the whole place. We need to get out of here before we die of the cold." Hae Choon says while they start walking towards the other side of the room and away from the beast. "Make sure that the beast doesn't notice you or we're done for."

The black haired girl didn't even have to reply as they both made their way towards the other side of the room where the exit door was. As they slowly walk towards the door in hopes that the beast doesn't notice them, the student can't stop wondering if the people inside the headquarters and responsible for all of these can see them and if they're having fun watching the two of them suffer.

Mi Young swears that if she was given a chance to face them, she wouldn't have any second thoughts on killing them.

"Stop thinking about anything and focus on the goal! You're attracting the beast!" Hae Choon suddenly shouted, making the black haired girl snap out of her thoughts. When she looked back, she realized that the beast was already marching towards them.

"I'm sorry!" The young student shouts as they runa s fast as they can towards the door without getting caught by the beast.

"Just run quickly! Here! Let's make a turn." The young man instructs as they both round the corner where they can hide from the beast's sight. "It's best if we keep its focus away from us. Make sure to turn on any possible obstacle so the beast would have a hard time finding us!"

"Got it." The black haired girl says with a nod as she follows closely behind Hae Choon.

They continue to turn on every possible obstacle they see that can make the beast confused. However, the beast finally stopped chasing them. When they thought that they were now safe, the beast suddenly let out the same sound that the black haired girl thought was weird.

"I remember hearing that sound." Mi Young starts to say as they stop and hide behind a huge glass décor. "But I can't remember when and where?"

"If that could help I think it's best if you think about it now."

"That's the point! I can't remember where I heard that sound before!" The young girl says.

Hae Choon didn't have enough time to answer both of them because the beast started to throw ice everywhere he saw. Then after that, he begins producing that same sound again.

As they continued to hide behind the glass décor, something flashes in Mi Young's mind.

"Sh*t! I remember now!"

"What?!" Hae Choon quickly asks before he checks the beast.

"It's the same sound the animals in the wild just beyond my hometown make whenever they're calling for other wild animals." Mi Young says triumphantly. Then, she looks at Hae Choon who was looking at her in pure shock.

That's when her own words sink inside her mind.

"Oh no."
