The Unsurpassed Maiden

There was a long silence after the Anemo captain was swallowed whole by the ground where he was standing just moments earlier. Mi Young was staring at the ground for a few seconds before her knees buckled from exhaustion. She looks up to see the other students from the Anemo faction looking at her with fear. They immediately backed away thinking Mi Young would attack them as well.

She sighs before she lets herself slump to the ground. She was too exhausted to think about anything else. At least she managed to destroy the threat.

Mi Young was about to close her eyes when she heard a slow clap coming from above her. Then Xiao Lu's face came into view.

He was smiling down at Mi Young before presenting her the Anemo faction's flag. "You deserve this."

"It's been with you all this time?" Mi Young questions the dark blue haired boy to which the other only replies with a huge smile. Mi Young wanted to punch the boy right there and now if she only had the remaining strength.

"Seeing you battle with Kris makes me want to battle with you more." Xiao Lu says, his eyes reflecting stars. "Want to battle with me now?"

"Do you want me to die of exhaustion?"

"Hmm too bad. Okay then!" Xiao Lu answers, "I'll just wait for you to recover."

Just as the boy said those words another set of voices called for Mi Young. Then she saw her teammates surrounding her with worry and relief.

"Hey." Mi Young says with a tired smile. "Is Moon Byul okay?"

"I am. Thanks to you." Moon Byul says with a grateful voice.

"That's good." That's what all Mi Young says before she finally shuts her eyes and lets sleep take over her exhausted body.

When Mi Young woke up, the game was about to end. The voice of the game MC echoing all over the battle arena as he repeats that there are only a few minutes left before the game ends and that teams should be able to be with their other team members and secure their flag so that their score could be counted.

Mi Young was resting on the tent of the other Pyro faction, which they took from the other team courtesy of Jong In and Shi Yun, and all she could remember was Xiao Lu bidding them a small goodbye and saying that he needs to be with other teammates.

When Jong In asked how they can be with their team captain, Xiao Lu only answered that they will stand on top of his grave. Jong In and the others looked horrified upon hearing the other boy's answer.

Mi Young only shook her head while chuckling to herself, the others do not know how sarcastic the dark blue haired guy was.

After that, the MC counted from ten to one before he officially announced that the class battle had finally ended.

Mi Young opened her eyes and the first thing she saw was Jong In looking at her with a triumphant smile. "Mi Young we won! We won!"

"What?" Was all the black haired girl can utter as she looks at everywhere around them.

There she realized that they were back at the stadium and all of the other people from the bleachers were congratulating and clapping their hands for them. Mi Young also noticed that they were the only team standing at the center of the stage.

Noticing her confused face, Shi Yun came closer towards Mi Young before whispering to her ear, "They're backstage. They are being treated right now and so is Moon Byul."

That's when Mi Young noticed that their other teammate wasn't around. She nods her head at Shi Yun.

"Securing five other flags plus their own, we have witnessed the outstanding abilities and talents displayed from the Pyro faction led by Kang Mi Young!" The MC announced through the speakers, then he continued. "Kang Mi Young was also the one who managed to pass this year's freshmen entrance exam with a perfect score that no one has ever made. The Pyro captain is also known to be a student who can control three elements. Could this be a sign that a new era has come?"

Despite everything the MC said about her, all Mi Young could think of was the number of flags their team was able to get. "We managed to get five? But how?"

"Ha Ru and Ho Shi were able to get the flags from the other Geo and Hydro factions." Jong In says while clapping his hands.

Mi Young turns to her other two teammates. "Thank you!"

"It's nothing compared to what you did to our team." Ho Shi says while congratulating Mi Young as well. Then he scratches the back of his nape as if he was shy to talk about the next words that came out from his mouth. "Also, I heard you took revenge for Moon Byul. She's very important to me and saving her was my top priority but I wasn't there to do so. You took all the blow and I want to thank you for that as well."

Mi Young only gave him a huge smile before telling the other boy that it was her responsibility as the team captain to look out for the other member's safety.

The crowd continued to cheer for the Pyro faction's success. They even displayed the battles that happened inside the arena which made Mi Young pretty embarrassed seeing her face on screen.

The screen also showed the many other epic battles from the other teams to which Mi Yung found very fascinating seeing other students display their talents and skills.

Seeing the battle between her and the Anemo captain, Mi Young remembered the other party which made her question the others where could the other captain be.

"He's fine. They immediately took him out underground before he lost oxygen." Shi Yun answers seeing Mi Young's worried look. "If he died, we could have been expelled."

"I'm sorry." Mi Young whispers, feeling so disappointed with herself for dragging her teammates.

"Don't be." Shi Yung says, which made Mi Young look up at him with shock. "He deserves that."

"That's true." Ho Shi says from behind them. "If I was there I would have killed him right that instant."

Mi Young only smiled at her teammates, feeling grateful that they weren't mad because of her rash actions.

After that, the MC announced the other activities the academy has prepared for the next two days. He also didn't forget to mention the awards and bonuses the winning team has earned which made the audience clap once more.

When Mi Young and the others were backstage, a tall and very buff man blocked her way when she was about to go and rest in their room.

"E-Excuse me, Sir? Can I help you?" Mi Young asks while looking up at the buff man. She couldn't help but notice the scar looks from her teammates as well as everyone else around them.

The man only grunts in response before saying, "You're way shorter in person."

Mi Young finds this very offending. And without knowing who the man was she starts to tell him off, "Excuse me whoever you are, Sir. Even if I don't know you it's very rude to tell someone that they are short when you're just tall and big like a gorilla."

Mi Young hears the gasps and worried looks from the other people around them but she chose to ignore them, too occupied with the man who was now looking at her with widened eyes.

"If you don't have anything good to say, please let me pass because I need to see my injured teammate." Min Young says.

"M-Mi Young." Jong Ibn gulp[s behind him. "T-That's…"

The tan skinned male clears his throat before he continues his sentence. "That's the Geo Clan Head, Kwon Tae Soo. W-We should bow to him, not offend him."

Mi Young wanted the ground to swallow her whole right then. Or should she execute the Sealing Earth Technique and bury herself deep underground?

"I-I'm…I didn't…" Mi Young starts to say. However, she was cut off by the big man.

'Oh my gods, am I going to jail?' Mi Young thought, praying to the Sages to spare her life.

Then the man laughs wholeheartedly. "I like your attitude! You're not just strong but you're funny as well!"

Mi Young's mouth hangs open. She didn't expect that reply from the other man. She looked to her side and saw the others looking at the man with wide eyes and shock expressions. Clearly, they didn't expect that as well.

"Pardon Sir?"

"Oh my! You're right, I was so rude." The man  apologizes. "I'm sorry. My name is Kwon Tae Soo and I am the father of the Kwon twins. I saw your battle with my son, Ji Hyun, and I couldn't help but to admire your talent and skills."

Mi Young remained mute still processing the events happening in front of her.

The others were silent as well, looking as shocked and as confused as Mi Young.

However, the Geo Clan Head continued his speech, not even sparing the other any glance, his focus only at the black haired girl in front of him. "That is why, I want you to teach me the Sealing Earth Technique."

"W-What? You want me to teach you, S-Sir?"

"Uhn.. Please let me learn from your skills!" The Geo Clan Head says before bowing in front of Mi Young.
