Chapter 270 - World 10.8

"BLOOD..BLOOD..BLOOD.."

That murmuring, pleading sound echoed in Xianyu's ears. It made him freeze for a minute because he was still dumbfounded by what was happening.

The bustling sound under the lady's feet started to creak. She was now moving.

The was under the dim shadows of the trees, so when she moved forward, the warm moonlight penetrated to the open space shining on her. Her face hit the rays of the moon.

Xianyu gulped. This time, he saw the lady's true appearance. Her hair was messy, covering half of her face. Long sharp nails and deep round crimson eyes, her fangs are shown with blood flowing from her lips.

"What are you?!" Xianyu asked. He took a step back.

The lady tilted her head, then she laughed hysterically. Her grin grew wider and her voice turned deeper. "Give me blood!! Blood!!" she yelled again.

This time, Xianyu tried to talk to her. "Young lady!! I don't know if you are being possessed, but you need to calm down!" He said, this time he moved forward. The lady didn't move, which made the guy a little relieved.

His gaze went again on the lady's chest. "Did she have that Y mark all along? It's suspicious." He mumbled inside his thoughts. He had no idea what was happening. He didn't want to jump in conclusion, besides the lady isn't attacking him yet.

"I will not hurt you, so please cooperate with me." He took a step closer... another one... closer.

Xianyu approached the lady more and reached out his hand. "It's me. I will help you, okay?" He tried to smile. "Your little brother is waiting for you at home."

Little did he know that this lady already smelled the blood from his knees. He got it when he tripped earlier.

A big grin stretched the lady's lips. She opened his mouth, and without a blink, a loud crash happened. Before Xianyu could realize, the lady pushed him down and pinned him. He was now using his arms to block her.

"Blood!! Give me blood!!!" the lady screamed in anger as she was trying to claw Xianyu's arms to reach for his neck.

Xianyu felt how heavy the lady was because he was under her. He was wriggling while avoiding the sharp nails aiming for his eyes. The tension was very sudden and he couldn't stop himself from panting.

Xianyu tried to yank away, and it caused both of them to roll over. When their body finally parted, he quickly stood up. "She's too strong compared to her strength earlier," he mumbled, wiping the blood from his forehead.

"What are you??!" He asked when the lady faced him again. This time, their distance is quite far away from each other.

Instead of answering, she slid down on her knees and cried. "Grandfather!! I didn't mean to kill you!" She grabbed her hair "I'm very sorry!! I'm very sorry!! But your blood tastes so sweet!! I couldn't resist it…" she raised her head between crying and laughing.

"Ehh??! You killed him?!" Xianyu exclaimed. If she killed her own grandfather, then there's no other choice. She needed to repent her sins.

Xianyu closed his eyes, remembering every detail Rouhan told him. He took a deep breath and thrust his right palm into the air. Then a blue like lighting flew towards the lady and restrained her. It tied her hands behind her, making her paralyzed.

"It worked!" Xianyu almost exclaimed after seeing the result.

"Xianyu!!!"

Familiar voices echoed in the area, then 2 shadows emerged from the woods. It was Sun Wei and Qi Zhou.

The two walked closer to him and were amazed that he had already restrained the lady. Sun Wei tapped his shoulders, "Good job," he complimented the male.

Xianyu felt flattered, so he rubbed his nape. "I'm just doing what I needed to do and besides, I don't know what's happening and I don't want to kill her," he said

Qi Zhou looked at the girl, "She slowly sucks all of her grandfather's blood, then she came to us asking for help where the truth is she was the one who's sick," he commented

"What do you mean?" Xianyu asked.

Sun Wei stepped between them. "She had the curse pandemic 5 years ago"

Curse pandemic happened 5 years ago, it started in a small village. At first, it was just a simple fever and coughs, but as days went by, a Y mark will appear on their bodies and from that point, they will crave for blood. The people who have this condition are called 'Jiangyin'.

"And the reason why the healers have gone missing and disappeared is because she sucked all of their blood too... She got disappointed after finding out that no one can bring back his grandfather's life," Qi Zhou explained.

Xianyu leaned closer to him, "I guess she was regretting it... But how did she get it? The Curse…"

This time, the atmosphere between Sun Wei and Qi Zhou turned tight. Their posture turned stiff, like Xianyu ring a bell or something. "Is she a survivor of that pandemic 5 years ago?" He asked again.

"It's impossible," Sun Wei sternly said. He clenched his fist secretly and glanced at the other male like he was conveying something.

"For now, cure her first,"

Xianyu jolted and startled. "Ehh? How can I cur….." he was stopped when Qi Zhou pulled his hand and placed it onto the lady's chest, where the Y mark was. A yellow light glowed from Xianyu's hand, then it circled around him.

A strong gust of power pushed his Qi. Xianyu felt the flowing energy into his system. He twitched his eyes when he felt like he was draining out. If this is really what healing feels like, he feels like he will faint.

Xianyu was right, he collapsed.

The next day…

The sun's rays hit his eyes. He must be sleeping beside the window. Xianyu twitched his eyelids and slowly opened them. It was morning.

The familiar ceiling welcomed him. He rolled to the other side of the bed after feeling the dizziness.

"How did I end up going back last night?" He mumbled to himself as he sat up. The shack was empty. He was alone.

He stood up and trudged towards the door, where he saw Qi Zhou and Sun Wei not far away under the tree. He chuckled after watching the two "They must be arguing again," he whispered.

Xianyu grouped his fingers beside his lips and called "Oiii!!!!!!"

His voice was loud enough to reach the two. Sun Wei waved back at him while Qi Zhou raised his middle finger with a bleh.

"Are you enjoying their company so much?"

"Ehhh??!!" Xianyu immediately turned his head. His eyes widened in surprise, "Mister Jun!!!!" He exclaimed.

Instead of receiving an answer, a smack landed on his head. "Stop calling me Mister! I'm not that old!" Rouhan said with a scowled face.

Xianyu rubbed his head. "You don't need to smack me like that! Humph!" He snorted.

Rouhan crossed his arms. "Hey! Don't get too cocky, brat! Don't get ahead of yourself, Chen Yang," he said. "You still have a lot to remember and learn in this world," he said.

Since Rouhan was here, and Xianyu is free right now, the male smirked. "That's why you are here, right?"

"Hopeless!"

The two sat down at the table, after Xianyu prepared them a tea. He poured a cup and pushed it to the man. "Do I have something I need to know?" He asked.

Rouhan took a sip and gently placed the cup down. "Do you remember the very start? The start of everything?" He asked.

"No, I don't"

Rouhan frowned "How about the first world?"

Xianyu just tilted his head. "What first world are you talking about? Is this not the first world?" He asked.

Rouhan slapped his forehead. "How about the author?" He asked again.

Xianyu fell silent. He tilted his head again. Then, from that, he uttered. "Your voice really sounds familiar."

"How about the book?" Rouhan asked again.

"Am I inside the book?" Xianyu asked a question too. It made the other man click his tongue in dismay.

"You're hopeless, Chen Yang"

Xianyu sprang up, "Have you heard?! I had my very first patient yesterday!" He proclaimed.

But unlike a while ago, Rouhan's expression went straight and stern. "You shouldn't be happy about that." He stood up and went to the door where he also gazed at the two males talking distance away from them. Xianyu followed him, "What do you mean?" He peered his head beside the man with his blinking eyes.

Rouhan didn't look at him. He put his arms on his back. "That cursed pandemic was 5 years ago and it must be gone now…" He frowned. "It should be over by now, but it keeps coming back,"

Based on the man's tone. He didn't like what he was hearing right now. The curiosity grew deeper on Xianyu; he didn't want to be left out. He also wanted to understand this world, and he wanted to help other people.

"Is there anything I can do to regain my memories?"
