Chapter 274 - World 10.12

When Xianyu woke up, the first thing he felt was the cold floor under his feet. A clunking sound from the metal connected to his legs clanged as he tried to move. He felt his arms behind him, tied up. He was sitting on a chair. I blinked his eyes and scanned the surroundings.

He was in a small cell; the walls were all made of blocks and the door was made of iron. Xianyu can't stand up because they tied him up in his chair. On the side was a wooden bed with one torch in the corner. He can clearly tell that the outside is dark, like he was in a dungeon.

"Hello?!!!" Xianyu's voice echoed back.

"Hey?!! Can someone hear me?!" He called out again. He tried to shake the metal on his legs, it made a clunking sound again which echoed in the area. "Why am I even in chains?" He complained to himself.

"It's because they're scared,"

A chuckle lit up the atmosphere, and the thought of him as he was alone quickly vanished. Xianyu heard it right and clear, and another voice from the cell answered him. He twisted his head to his right and was startled by what he saw.

There was another guy crouching comfortably on his other side. A smirk illuminated from his cheeks when the fire from the torch swayed in his direction. "Hi!" the guy greeted him.

Xianyu blinked his eyes and observed the guy. His arms were behind his head like he was using it as a pillow from the hard wall. His legs were crossed, he was wearing a black boots. "Who are you?" he asked.

The guy in the corner stood up and brushed his black robe, and under it was a white and red clothing. This time, Xianyu realized that the guy was taller than him. Instead of answering, the guy walked closer to Xianyu. "Your wrists are swollen." he bent down and untied him.

Xianyu grabbed his hands and massaged his own wrist. It was indeed sore from the rope. "Thank you," he mumbled.

The guy just chuckled. He parted from Xianyu and sat on the wooden bed. "You must be the new prisoner," he said.

Xianyu shot him a glance, then he frowned. "New prisoner? I didn't do anything bad. I was just helping an old woman on the streets when they suddenly picked me up," he reasoned out.

The guy smirked,"I'm not asking you,"

Xianyu finds it a little sarcastic. He ignores the other male and stands up. He also brushed off the dust from his robe and glanced at the male. When he was about to take a step, the chain on his leg pulled him back, causing him to stumble.

Before Xianyu could hit the floor, the guy pulled him up by grabbing his arms. "Be careful," he said.

When Xianyu lifted up his head, he found the guy's face closer to his face. His face turned red from embarrassment when their eyes met. He hurriedly yanked away and turned around. The guy saw how red Xianyu's ears were; it made him smile.

Since Xianyu still had chains, he slumped on the floor. He pursed his lips out and mumbled. "Why am I even here?! I didn't do anything!"

The guy sitting on the wooden bed heard him, "Do you want to come with me?" Xianyu looked at him, "Where?" he asked.

Instead of answering first, the guy flicked his fingers, then the chains around Xianyu's legs broke on their own. "Sit here beside him so we can discuss the matter,"

Xianyu saw how the hard chain cracked into pieces. He was left dumbfounded. He glanced at the guy who was now tapping the empty space on the bed. "Come here," he said.

Xianyu followed him and sat on the bed, just inches away from the guy. "Why are you here?" he asked. He was trying to lift the awkward atmosphere between them.

"What do you think?" The fire on the torch once again swayed with the air and it reflected on the guy's pupils. When Xianyu saw he had one red eye, while the other one was blue.

Xianyu got silent after looking at those eyes, eyes like a deep ocean pulling him. He stayed like that while observing the dancing fire from the torch.

"Why did you turn quiet after seeing my eyes?" The guy tapped Xianyu's shoulders. "Did I scare you off?" he asked.

Xianyu jolted, "No No No!! I'm not scared!" He curled up on his back and looked away. "It's just that.. Your eyes," he mumbled. "It's pretty,"

It stunned the guy with what he heard. He thought that Xianyu would get scared after seeing his eyes, but it turned out that he was the one who got surprised. "You're scary," he said.

"Ehh?!!" Xianyu flinched. "What makes you say that?!"

The guy watched the change of his expression. He slumped his body down on the wooden bed and giggled. He even held his stomach to suppress his laughter. Xianyu glared at him, "And now you're laughing at me?!" he snorted.

The guy stopped and stared at the cold ceiling. "What's your name?" he asked.

Xianyu paused, asking himself if it's okay to tell his true name. Sun Wei and Qi Zhou weren't here, so he couldn't decide. But this man helped him and he can't sense any bad intentions from him. "Tell me your name first," he replied instead.

A half smile stretches the guy's face. "Yuan..call me Yuan"

Xianyu gazed at him for the second time, "I'm Xianyu," he turned back his gaze to the dancing flame from the torch. "What are you doing here?" he asked.

Yuan sat up. "I was just killing some time because I ran away from home when that jerk also picked me up from the streets and brought me here," he snorted. The jerks he was talking about were the palace guards.

Xianyu saw the disappointment on his face, "Is that so," he commented back. "They're really annoying," he mumbled.

Yuan sprang up from the bed and stood in front of Xianyu. He grabbed the male's hand. "Would you like to come with me?" he said with a grin.
