Transmigrated Into The Book

The shaking Ji Ling, sitting across the study table, took the glass of water that was handed to her by the male. Instead of serving her master, she's the one being served now. Li Jing gulped the water in one go, "T-Thank you, m-master,". She mumbled.

Xianyu made an unsure expression while continuously rubbing the back of his head. He did not know how to begin his explanation. He tapped his forehead and cleared his throat, but when he was going to say a word, the male beside him stole his chance.

"Sorry if I startle you," Yuan said. "I don't have any bad intention towards you and Xianyu," He stared at Li Jing then to Xianyu, piercing the male with his blank eyes. "I came here to save him" Yuan grasped Xianyu's wrist and pulled him closer to him. "Should I just steal your master?" he asked.

Li Jing, who was looking down while fidgeting with her fingers to calm, quickly raised her head. "Please don't do that!" she exclaimed. You can see that she was scared, not by what she called 'the demon prince' but because of the punishment she would receive if she lost sight of his master.

Xianyu saw the fear in the lady's eyes, so he tapped Yuan's chest and pushed him away. Then he whispered in a low tone, "Stop saying such things",

Since Xianyu saw how Li Jing turned pale and stiff, he leaned closer to the lady and gave her a pat on her head. "He was just fooling around, don't take it seriously," he uttered. 

When the lady was finally calmer than before, the three of them sat across the table to have a chit chat. Of course, Xianyu still needs to make sure that Li Jing will not spill any tea to the Prince, especially to the emperor. It will never bring them good luck.

Since the situation around the palace is still tight, he has decided to keep Yuan here with him for the meantime. They both knew the basic information about the red and blue pill so it will lead them to success if they both put their hands in it. 

"Li Jing…"

The lady sitting on the other side of the table jolted the moment she heard her name. She wanted to rejoice because her master, pronouncing her name, was so good to her ears that she wanted to ask him to repeat it again, but because they are not in the situation like that, she just nodded her head and replied. "Yes, master."

Again, Xianyu scratched his head like he was trying to figure the right words to say, "Can you..umm..keep this a secret from outside?" he asked, still wavering with nervousness in his expression.

The atmosphere turned silent.

"No need," Yuan broke it with his blank emotion eyes and curved lips. He stood up and strolled around the chamber, then he approached the window. He pushed it wide open. The dim room a while ago is now exposed to the afternoon light. Yuan leaned to the window ledge, "Yi-Lin would be very delighted to see me here," he grinned.

And because the room became dim for a couple of minutes, the two figures sitting on the chair facing the window couldn't help but wince when the rays of the dandelion sun hit their faces. It blinded them for a second, then when they opened their eyes, they saw a mischievous grin from the handsome so-called demon prince. 

Calling the second prince by his name, Yi-Lin, Xianyu thought that these two were indeed that close but upon remembering the words from Yuan, he sensed something. More like threatening and cunning lines. He ignored it and sighed, then he spun his head back to Li Jing. Xianyu chuckled, "Eh he he...Don't mind his words," he was trying to coax her to make her believe that Yuan is just a childish, temperamental prince. 

Li Jing nodded her head to show that she was listening, though her eyes were lowered down on the floor. "Y-Yes master, worry not," she mumbled.

Xianyu finally released the heavy feeling in his chest by sighing. "T-Thank you," he uttered back. Finding Li Jing this trustworthy is indeed great. 

Yuan remained leaning on the windowsill while watching the setting sun. The dandelion sky penetrated through his face, shadowing half of his cheeks. He watched the clouds bend down as if it was touching the horizon. The grassland below it was also now darkened by the shadow of the lowering sun. 

The wind blew, rattling the leaves and the flowers underneath. Xianyu was about to step closer to Yuan when a loud thud rang the entrance.

Both Li Jing and Xianyu twisted their heads to the shadows reflecting behind the door. It was a group of palace guards, maybe to check and inspect.

Another thud was heard, but after that, a grumpy and hoarse voice spoke. "We are here to check every room. The palace is under investigation. Please open the door if you are not hiding anything,"

After hearing the words from that threatening tone, both Xianyu and Li Jing turned their heads back to Yuan, who was also gazing at them. The so-called demon prince wasn't bothered at all. In fact, he was smirking.

'What's with that expression in this kind of situation?' Xianyu almost brushed his face while thinking that thought. He was going to take a step forward when another loud knock echoed in the room. This time, it was firm and heavy.

Xianyu scuffed up his neck like a scared cat. He didn't know what to do or what to think anymore. He was afraid that the guards might catch Yuan empty handed this time. Will they also search the cabinet if he hides him again there? Definitely, yes! They are in the strict mode of searching every edge and corners of every room after all.

When Xianyu was about to dash right to Yuan, the door opened wide. Revealing five burly palace guards, "We are in a hurry," the one who was the general of them all sneered at them.

Li Jing pulled Xianyu's sleeves, then they both realized the situation they're in. 

"Yuan," Xianyu mouthed secretly, but when he spun his head right to where the male was a while ago, he was surprised. 

Yuan was no longer by the windowsill.
