Transmigrated Into The Book

From his sharp gaze, Yi-Lin's eyes dilated in excitement. "I knew it!" he blurted out. He let go of Xianyu and stood straight beside the bed. "You are terrible at peeking," he stated.

Dumbfounded, Xianyu lifted his elbow and leaned on the bed. His gaze went to the shadow beside the window. Half of his body was covered by darkness since the gust of wind a while ago blew the flame off the lamp. 

The warm rays of the moonlight once again penetrated the room. The mysterious figure stepped forward, revealing his black leather boots. Xianyu looked up. The man was wearing a red robe with black lines across his sleeves. He was tall. He felt his heart thumping. 

Yi-Lin smirked, "I knew it was you, so show yourself."

The mysterious man's footsteps echoed inside the room as he slowly approached the bed. "What makes you think that you can touch my property?" His voice was deep, yet silvery. When the darkness uncovered his face, it showed his red crimson eyes. His lips were twitched in annoyance.

Xianyu jolted after seeing his being. He was the same with long hair, though it wasn't in a bun. It was waist-length. He was crossing his arms while gazing sharply at Yi-Lin. 'I thought they were on good terms,?' he asked himself.

Seeing Yuan treating Yi-Lin like this, he suspected. Something was wrong between the two. The second prince was desperately looking for him while Yuan was provoking him. Xianyu slowly sat up on the bed, not even wanting to make a small sound to disturb the heavy atmosphere between the two. 

'Maybe I should leave them and stroll outside,' Xianyu mumbled in his thoughts, but when he was about to stand up from the bed, Yi-Lin grabbed him towards his chest.

"Ekk!" he exclaimed in surprise.

Yi-Lin puffed into laughter. "Is this what you are talking about, dear brother?" he asked, still smiling. He compressed Xianyu in his embrace so tight that the male almost winced. 

Xianyu raised his head. He met Yi-Lin's eyes filled with mockery. "Y-Your highness? What are you d-doi--" he froze when the prince placed an index finger above his lips. It silences him.

Yuan remained silent, but he was clenching his fist. He was sure to keep his composure still, but the oozing aura from him couldn't hide that he was angry. He stepped forward. "Let go," his voice echoed again, silvery but stern. 

It was only two words, but those words delivered chills to Xianyu's spine. Yuan said it like he was claiming something that's his.

Yi-Lin wasn't even provoked. He giggled. "Are you angry?" he shrugged his shoulders. "I didn't mean to toy with him around. I was just teasing him a little," he snorted. "Because I know that you will come out."

This time, Yuan's expression changed. Xianyu always sees the man smiling and bubbly, like the way he was teasing him back then in their Inn, but this time, Yuan's eyes were violent and blazing in fury. 

Since the atmosphere was very heavy and full of wrath. Xianyu tried to push himself away from the prince. "Yi-Lin?" He called him again by his name. The prince loosened his grip but didn't let the male walk away from him.

'Why am I even here?' Xianyu mumbled in his thoughts. Yi-Lin pushed him behind, giving the thought of 'maybe since they were calling Yuan as the demon prince, he was trying to protect me'

"Your highness, you don't need to protect me, I'm fine" Xianyu tapped Yi-Lin's shoulders with his soft voice to show that he was fine. 

Yi-Lin turned his head to him and smiled. "Don't worry, he'll never hurt you...my brother cherishes you dearly." he said. Behind that smile was a bitter expression.

"Ehh?" 

The prince ignored him and faced Yuan back. He stepped forward and reached out his hand. "Come back brother, the emperor is waiting for you, we are all waiting for you...why did you run away?" 

'I was right,' Xianyu exclaimed in thought. He wanted to claim that he was right. Yuan ran away from the palace, from his home. But after hearing Yi-Lin, pursuing his brother to go home. A slight curiosity struck him. A side of him wanted to know the reason.

"I DON'T WANT TO GO BACK!"

Both Yi-Lin and Xianyu jolted from their stance after hearing the male raise his voice. For the first time, Xianyu heard him yell. But he flinched not because he got scared, he flinched because he sensed something from that voice, like remorse and grief. 

The prince backed away and faced Xianyu; he held his hands. "Do you want to hear a story?" he asked, his eyes were beaming in excitement.

Startled, Xianyu nodded. 

Yi-Lin was elated by his answer. He started the story. "Once upon a time, there was an angel in the sky. He was very kind and righteous. Everyone respected him and obeyed him. That angel then was put in a war where he needed to train his subordinates," 

Xianyu didn't reply, he just nodded his head to show that he was listening.

"But do you know what happened there?" Yi-Lin asked. He didn't wait for an answer. "He killed all of them, bathing himself from their blood." His lips turned downward. "Do you want to know his name?" 

"Erm.." Xianyu was hesitant to answer, he felt very uncomfortable. He didn't know why the second prince was acting so calm while you can see that Yuan was piercing him with his deadly gaze. 

"Stop spouting sh*ts," When Yuan said it, Yi-Lin fell on the floor. His face turned red as he covered his lips. He was struggling like he was under a petrification spell. It was when Xianyu realized that Yuan flicked his fingers a while ago.

"Your highness?" He crouched down and was about to approach Yi-Lin when Yuan pulled him away. "Come with me," he said.

Xianyu pulled himself. "Wait! What did you do to him?" he asked. "At least let him go," he pleaded. 

Yuan didn't look at him. He raised his hand instead and tapped the male's forehead. That impact jolted inside Xianyu's system. He started to tremble. He got dizzy and fell into Yuan's embrace.
