"As what I am saying, this lady got the red pill from the royal palace medicinal hall,"

Qi Zhou nodded his head. "She said that it came from her friend, one of the court ladies." He took a sip from his cup and gently put it down on the table. "At first, she didn't want to tell us everything but since the time is running out and we didn't want to waste another life, she finally spit it out,"

Sun Wei, beside him, agreed and crossed his arms. "I thought she would die or turn into something more gruesome when she took the blue pill, but it ended up treating her."

The atmosphere between the four eating across the table turned quiet.

Xianyu slammed his palm on the table, not too loud. "So you're saying that the blue pill was the cure while the red pill is the cause," he said.

"That's it," Qi Zhou pointed at him. "The lady said that she accidentally took the red pill because both of them were really drunk. When she woke up, she saw her friend dead." he raised one of his brows. "She even bit me in the arms." 

"But the more intriguing thing was, the red pill came from the royal palace," Rouhan commented. He looked at Sun Wei. "Did you already release her?" he asked.

Sun Wei nodded his head. "We released her and accompanied her to their house, master," he replied.

"Wait, wait, wait, then why is Yuan involved here?" Xianyu crossed his arms and pursed his lips out. "He doesn't know everything about this," 

Qi Zhou shrugged his shoulders, "We really are not saying that he was the mastermind, but it's better if you stay away from him." This time, he was serious.

Xianyu sprang up from his seat and knitted his brows, "Why would I? He saved me when I was captured by the royal guards the day you both left me, he also saved me when I was investigating inside the royal palace," He tapped Rouhan "You should punish these two, they're always leaving me in trouble," he snorted.

"Hey! It was all part of the plan!"

"What plan are you talking about?! Luring Yuan's attention by using me?" Xianyu slammed his hands on the table and the utensils almost bounced. "Well then, good job! You literally lured him out without knowing that he's helping us in many ways!" he exclaimed, glaring fiercely. 

Sun Wei also lost his temper, so he grabbed Xianyu by the collar and snarled. "We want to protect you both! Are you an idiot! Understand everything before bawling your anger to us! What the heck do you think you are?!" 

Qi Zhou gripped Sun Wei's arms. "Let him go," 

Sun Wei let go while Xianyu walked out. 

"Look at him, leaving when we are in the middle of an important matter!" Sun Wei was about to follow Xianyu to pull him back, but Rouhan stopped him and whispered. "Let him be,"

The sun went down and the day passed. It was already night. Xianyu was sitting beside the door, staring into the stars twinkling above his head. The moon was full and big, helping the stars to sparkle. 

"Couldn't sleep?"

Qi Zhou asked. He also took the empty space beside Xianyu. He observed the male in silence. Xianyu was indeed a stubborn one. Even if he was acting on his own sometimes, he couldn't deny that he had a talent. 

"Xianyu," He called out. 

Xianyu frowned and compressed himself, showing that he didn't want to talk about anything right now because he was still angry. 

Qi Zhou chuckled. "You are both childish," he commented. It made Xianyu turn his head to him "I'm not childish, don't get me wrong, I'm not like him!" he snorted.

"I know you are not, but both of you have different perspectives." Qi Zhou lifted his head and watched the stars beside the moon sparkle. "I apologize on Sun Wei's behalf, but he's right," he sighed. "He just wants to protect you…"

"Protect me? Really? Yuan had nothing to do with all of this." the nerves in Xianyu's temples popped out from anger. That's why he's not in the mood to talk about this.

"Listen here first," 

Xianyu stopped. "Fine! I will listen"

"He knew about your past," Qi Zhou started. "After connecting all the dots in this case, Sun Wei kept on worrying about you, you and Yuan had an unbearable past to overcome," 

Those words turned Xianyu shut, he bit his lower lip with his sad eyes.

It is true that their faith in the past didn't connect well. Yuan killed Master Lan for mistaking him for killing his father. Though he was the cause of the jiangyins back there, they still needed to secure Xianyu's mental health and emotions.

It made Xianyu half smile, a bitter smile. He clenched his fist and lowered his head, staring blankly at the ground near the door. "What happened then?"

Startled, Qi Zhou turned his head. "What do you mean?" he asked. 

"What happened that day? Did I kill someone?" Xianyu's eyes turned more pitiful. If Qi Zhou tells him that he killed Yuan that day, it will really become unbearable for him. Yuan is always saving him, no matter what happens. He should be the one paying him his debt.

Xianyu became intrigued. The last moment he saw from Yuan's memory was the time when both of them rolled under the tree. Yuan cried and told him he wanted his father back. He remembered it very well. At that time, Yuan lost control of his own power.

When he woke up, Rouhan told him that he was asleep for years. Behind that, he didn't know the reason. Besides, his memories aren't really clear.

Xianyu shot a glance at the male. "Tell me, Did I kill him when he's already out of control? Did I make him suffer?" 

"You didn't kill anyone, don't worry," Qi Zhou took his attention back. "Because you sacrifice yourself for him," he said.
