Chapter 381 - S2 World 11.37

After finishing all the paperworks and printing all the hard copies, Yang finally breathed. He leaned his head on the chair's head and stared at the light brown ceiling. "What a tiring day," he mumbled, gradually closing his eyes.

"Ekk!!!!"

He jolted when he felt something cold on his cheeks; he opened his eyes and saw Ren Jiang with an iced coffee. "Coffee?" the male suggested.

"Manager!" He quickly took the drinks and said thanks.

"I'm sorry if I startled you," Ren Jiang smiled and leaned on the desk beside the computer. He scanned the male's things and found that everything was in order. "Are you going home already?" he asked.

Yang paused and checked his wristwatch. It said 5 pm. "I can stay. Do you need any help, manager?" he asked.

The other man snorted a small chuckled, "Not really, I just wanted to apologize earlier, Jin might put the blame on you," he patted the male's head. "Don't worry, I already talked to him." he assured.

Yang kept his expression as he took a sip from his iced coffee. The caramel was very well mixed with the bitterness. It delivered a sweet and strong aftertaste to his tongue. He put it down on the desk, "You don't need to apologize, I know that manager is just worried about me," then his eyes turned down. 'It's also my fault,' he thought.

"Hey manager! You goin home?"

One of his office mates showed up from the other cubicle. He leaned his elbows on the thin wall, dividing every computer and said. "We will be having a karaoke night. You want to come?" he asked. He lowered his head and looked at Yang. "How about you, Mr. Chen? It's still early, do you want to come with us?"

Yang let out a chuckle and said that he was fine. He reasoned out that he was a bit tired and wanted to go home early to sleep. Since his office-mate was convinced, he didn't push his thoughts anymore and excitedly left the office.

After the short interruption, Ren Jiang went back to his real intention. "Yang, do you want to come with me?" he asked.

Yang stopped and lifted his sight from the chair he was in. "Where?"

A smile stretches the manager's face. "It's a secret," then he winked.

Yang released a small sigh and wanted to brush his face this instant. This man over here acted like he wasn't being harassed by Xu Shein. Come to think of it, he had no news about the lady after their encounter the other day. Just by thinking this, his cheeks throb again. That slap was indeed painful.

"Can you wait for a moment, manager? I'm just going to finish arranging my desk," Yang said. Closing all the remaining folders from his computer.

"Sure, no problem," Ren Jiang replied. He stayed leaning on the side of the desk and didn't disturb Yang until he was finally done. He picked up his coat from the chair and wrapped it on his shoulders real quick. When he finally settled himself, he smiled at the man still beside him. "Let's go, manager…" he said.

"I'm not expecting to be here!"

Yang almost exclaimed in his thoughts while his eyes widened at the scenery playing in front of him. He was sitting across the table with Ren Jiang. The table was beside the long and steel ledge of the place. More like a tower dinner date.

This expensive tower restaurant was famous only for rich people. You can see the wide view of the city down while enjoying your dinner. But since it was afternoon, Yang can see the orange sky turning gray as the sun's slowly bending down to meet the horizon.

"Are you scared of heights?" Ren Jiang, who got this smile on his face, asked.

Yang nodded his head. He fears heights, but he's not getting the feeling of dizziness right now. The truth is, he was enjoying the perfect view. "I like the view here, manager," he mumbled.

Then a waiter with a wine in his hand and a clean towel under it approached their table. He smiled before pouring the two drinks. "Enjoy your stay, sirs" he bowed his head and walked away.

Ren Jiang lifted the glass, putting the thin part between his two fingers. He swayed the glass and the red wine inside it twirled with the motion. He delivered it halfway to his lips and sniffed the alcohol inside. It's been so long since the last time he drank wine.

"Why are we here, manager?" Yang suddenly asked.

Ren Jiang paused after taking a sip. He gently put down the glass and gazed at Yang. "I want to treat you,"

Yang got more confused. He tilted his head on the other side with a slightly raised brow. "Treat me?"

"Yes," Ren Jiang pushed the other glass of wine towards Yang. "I also want to apologize on Xu Shein's side…"

Yang abruptly swings his hands in the air. "No, no, no!" he exclaimed. "You don't need to treat me with such a luxury to apologize," he bowed his head. "This is really too much,"

Ren Jiang didn't answer. His eyes went to the male's cheeks with a bandaid. His smile vanished away, feeling the guilt from that day. He wanted to tell himself that if he had come earlier, Yang would not have been hurt. He tried to smile again. "Why is she so mad at you? Xu Shein,"

That question rang a bell to Yang. He averted his gaze and felt his face turning red. He didn't know what to answer. Ren Jiang doesn't know that he's pretending to be Guang Jin's lover. Is it okay to tell him the matter? But if he's going to tell him, will the CEO be glad? They are childhood friends, but he doesn't have the right to share such things.

Yang unconsciously took the glass of wine and gulped it in one go.

Across the table, Ren Jiang observed his silence for a while before asking, "Is it because you and Guang Jin are dating?"

Then it happened, Yang spit the wine accidentally because of shock.
